Descendant

 The western horizon in the chart. If you are born at sunset, the Sun would be found around the Descendant of the chart. The Descendant also forms the cusp (starting point) of the 7th House of close relationships, marriage and partnerships. The Descendant sign, and planets in the 7th House, indicate the kind of partner the person is attracted to and what the person looks for in a relationship. Compare: Ascendant.
