Planetary Transits
October 31, to December 22, 2003
Samhain to Yule/Winter
Solstice
Oct. 31 - SAMHAIN
Nov. 2 - Venus
enters Sagittarius (until Nov. 26)
In
relationships and material abundance, you will now “teach best
what you need most to learn.” Expand these areas by taking a more
philosophical or spiritual approach, take a higher perspective or
cultivate a greater understanding.
Nov. 8, 8:13 PM
EST - Full Moon Eclipse in Taurus (Sun in Scorpio)
A Lunar
Eclipse is a Full Moon is like a supercharged Full Moon, aligned
so precisely that the Moon passes through Earth’s shadow cast by
the Sun. There is always a Solar Eclipse right before or after,
and the 2 weeks between eclipses can be energetically dense. This
eclipse polarises issues about control versus containment, power
versus substance and quality versus quantity. Aspect
configurations occurring now will pump up energy potential to
unusually high levels, making it possible to move large amounts of
energy that were begun at the New Moon on Oct. 25. Be sure
whatever you do is for the higher good of all.
Nov. 8 - Uranus Direct Station (in
Aquarius)
Uranus
is the Awakener! For up to a week before and after the Station
(when a planet changes direction) life may feel a little chaotic,
erratic, unpredictable, liberating or exciting. Good time to break
old habits.
Nov. 12 -
Mercury enters Sagittarius (until Dec. 2; Dec 30 – Jan 14)
Communication, ideas, thoughts and perceptual spark will expand in
Sagittarius, bringing a philosophical, spiritual outlook and
inspire us to seek a higher perspective. Use this time to learn
something new that expands your horizons.

Nov. 17 -
Venus conjunct Pluto (in Sagittarius)
All’s
fair in love and money, but be sure it’s for a higher purpose. For
a few days before and after this conjunction, you have the chance
to turn power struggles in relationships into an opportunity to
develop a deeper connection, and transform issues about material
abundance into a quest for hidden resources.
Nov. 22 – Sun
enters Sagittarius (until Dec. 22)
Sagittarius inspires us into philosophy, spirituality, religion,
higher learning and encounters with foreign lands, languages and
cultures.
Nov. 23, 5:58
PM - New Moon Eclipse in Sagittarius
A Solar
Eclipse is like a supercharged New Moon aligned so that the Moon
casts a shadow on the Earth from the Sun’s light. Astrologically
this sets the tone for higher growth over the next 6 months.
Beginning in this lunar cycle, we have opportunities for spiritual
healing through learning to channel and contain stress and anger
within a circle of optimism and creativity. The trick is to let a
positive outlook support your conflict or pain, not hide, suppress
or convert it into dogma.
Nov. 24 -
Mercury conjunct Pluto (in Sagittarius)
This
conjunction will colour the whole New Moon cycle. Communication
could be damaging or healing; speak to the bigger picture.
Transform your perceptions by stepping back and taking a broader
view.
Nov. 26 -
Venus enters Capricorn (until Dec. 21)
Relationships and material abundance take on a more serious tone
now. It may be time to make commitments in these areas, and maybe
some hard decisions about what works and must be systemised versus
what doesn’t work and must be let go.

Dec. 2 -
Mercury enters Capricorn (until Feb. 6)
Communication, ideas and awareness become serious, structured,
grounded and manifest now, provided you don’t let them become
suppressed or censored. Keep commitments flexible.
Dec. 8, 3:36 PM
- Full Moon in Gemini (Sun in Sagittarius)
It might
feel like conflict and challenge are everywhere right now, but if
you’ve been practicing your ability to contain and channel your
energy into a higher octave (since the New Moon), you can now use
stress to push against and propel yourself to higher levels of
healing and love. Let the little details form the greater
structure that inspires and lifts you toward a higher perspective.
Dec. 10 -
Venus conjunct Chiron
This
could be a time of wounding or healing, possibly one morphing into
the other. This is a fusion of principles: relationships, love,
interaction and abundance with bringing discordant sides together
in creative and unprecedented ways.
Dec. 12 - Sun
conjunct Pluto
For a
few days before and after, this can be a range of effects, from
power struggles over authority issues to deep excavation of the
inner psychological landscape. Empowerment is the key - power from
within.
Dec. 15 - Mars
enters Aries (until Feb. 3)
After
Mars retrograded through diffuse Pisces for what seemed like
forever (since June 15), it finally reaches its own sign where it
brings energy, enthusiasm, excitement, directness and a pioneering
spirit. Get out and enjoy the season, start a new project, let
loose and strengthen your courage.
Dec. 17 –
Mercury Retrograde in Capricorn and Sagittarius (until Jan. 6)
Mercury’s retrograde energy has been gradually building since Nov.
30, and now it enters 3 weeks of miscommunication, stop-start
energy and confused thoughts. Add to this the need to deal with
others’ expectations, authority figures and concrete realities,
requiring firm decisions while events are still in flux. Try to
keep any commitments and decisions flexible and tentative during
this time, as new information will likely come forward after Jan.
6, when Mercury goes direct. Your hard work will start to manifest
then on a large scale, so make room for far reaching implications
as you go through this process.
Dec. 21 -
Venus enters Aquarius (until Jan. 14)
Relationships, material abundance and values take a step back to
gain perspective, detachment and room to breathe in freedom. A
good time to experiment or try new things, network with groups of
people, and take an objective view.
Dec. 22, 2:03 AM - YULE - Sun
enters Capricorn (until Jan. 20)
Happy Winter
Solstice!
