Having problems updating a page on this site?
Unfortunately,
this does happen occasionally. If you're expecting to see updated content (like
the latest Horoscopes or
Low-Down planetary transits
or the Home page), it's usually because your browser
is having trouble letting go of the old page content. (Sounds like a bad Pluto
transit to me...)
Please try these steps—in the following order—and it should
correct the problem:
- Refresh: First, go to the page that isn't updating. Click
the Refresh button on
your browser to see if this clears out the old page. You may
have to try this 2
or 3 times until you see the new updates or decide that this
isn't working. If it is working, you will be able to see the updated
page right away.
If that doesn't work, try this...
- Clear Temporary Files: You may need to clear your browser's
temporary file cache. This is found in different places,
depending on which browser you're using. It can be found
somewhere in the browser's menu, usually called Options. If you
can't find the Options part of your browser, contact me and tell
me which browser you're using and I'll help you find it. For
example, in Firefox, go to Tools > Options > Privacy; select the
Cache tab, and click the "Clear Cache Now" button. In
Internet
Explorer, go to Tools > Options; from there it's a bit different depending if you're using version 6 or 7.
Again, if you can't find it, please
contact me and I'll do my best to help.
If that doesn't work, try this...
- Reboot: Close down your browser, shut down your
computer, and then reboot your computer (wait for at least 30
seconds for best results). Sometimes computers get gremlins
in them that are just determined to mess up your day (a bit
like Mercury retrograde...) When this happens, rebooting your
computer can often clear the problem (a bit like Mercury going
direct).
If that still doesn't work, try this...
- Clear Cookies: On rare occasions the previous
steps don't work. In that case you may have to try a bit more radical approach
̶ clearing your browser's cookies. I don't recommend doing
this unless the other three attempts don't work, because
clearing cookies could affect other things about your browser
(like automatic logins on some websites). Please
