Lunar Forecasts for May-June 2009

This Forecast in effect
May 24 to June 7, 2009

The Lunar Forecasts give Daily Horoscopes a greater context.

This is a time when your natural playfulness is a valuable resource. Perhaps this side of you has been dormant for a while, or maybe it's just itching for the opportunity to come out and have some fun. On the other hand, you might look around and think that with all the struggle happening in the world right now, there's nothing much to be cheerful about. In that case, this is precisely the best time to draw on your Inner Imp to help you look at the lighter side of life.

Right now could easily seem like a comedy of errors, looking more like a farce written by Shakespeare or Monty Python than your usual life. You have a choice: you can let yourself be pulled down by frustration or you can laugh about the irony. You can lament that things are moving too slowly and that your attempts seem to fall short of perfection, or you can lighten up and let yourself be tickled and endeared by our human bloopers. I'm not talking about laughing at anyone (including yourself), but laughing with life (including yourself). In other words, take your attachment to the outcome and your ego out of the picture, which can help you see things in a way that will lift your spirits.

The difficulty may lie in maintaining a healthy, comfortable detachment. It might be tempting to shut down your awareness or close up your openness to life. This may seem like a good way to protect yourself from people, situations or energies that perhaps feel chaotic or callously indifferent to its effects on you. In other words, your playful Inner Child might feel vulnerable and want to hide. However, it is exactly the lightness of your child-like being that can help you through this. I'm not talking about being recklessly nave, but to allow the light-hearted and pleasure-loving part of yourself to relax a bit and find some enjoyment and humour in the challenges that you are facing. It helps to have someone who can help you see the comedy and absurdity in it all. Seek out a trusted friend or pay a visit to a playful astrologer.

The Lunar Forecasts give Daily Horoscopes a greater context.

This is a time when your vision, imagination and sense of new possibilities may be very strong so strong, in fact, that a bit of caution and sensible moderation is probably wise. Over the last few weeks, life may have seemed surprisingly jumbled, chaotic, frustrating or filled with longing for change. (Blame it on an unusually intense Mercury retrograde.) This energy is finally starting to level out. It may be tempting to want to rush headlong into putting new ideas into motion or catching up on all the things that got delayed or stalled during that time.

Although optimistic expectations are certainly not out of place, forward progress will work much better if it is paced, measured and developed one mindful step at a time. This is especially true for anything involving finances, purchases and acquisition of resources and assets. In fact, you may find your plans fall into place more concretely in the last week of June.

The thing is: what is being created right now has implications far beyond your immediate situation. You might be acutely aware of this in the form of a "damned-if-you-do-damned-if-you-don't" kind of dilemma that has developed over the past few weeks. Your solution lies in patiently working your way through this rocky terrain. Take time out to "recharge your batteries." And limit your exposure to extremes of both stress and elation too much of either of these can be exhausting, pull you out of your center and skew your perception that needs to be grounded and stable right now. A personal astrology reading can help you find your footing again.
