What blessings do you wish the Universe would bestow on your life? Where do you feel a lack of fulfilment in your life? And if you were to get these blessings, how much would you have to have in order to feel there was "enough"? When you feel an acute lack of something, it's easy to think "Oh, I would be happy with 'this much' of it," but for many of us this is mostly an attempt at bargaining with the Universe from the position of an undeserving child. When asking yourself how much would be "enough," it becomes necessary to dig deeper and discover what it is deep down that is actually hungering for what you long for. What is it that really yearns to be satisfied?

This is a time of becoming more aware and mindful about how you relate to and interact with "stuff." That could be literally money or possessions, or it might be more conceptual, like food, alcohol, drugs, physical delights, risky thrills or peaceful tranquility – whatever brings you pleasure. It's not that these things can't be fun and pleasurable, but how you do them and why can make a huge difference in whether you will feel satiated afterwards. And if you're not satisfied then it begs the question: why are you doing it?

The next 2 weeks, and beyond it over the next several months, you are challenged to explore the reasons and attitudes behind what you crave, what you want to draw into your life and what makes you feel good. The purpose is not to judge yourself but to become aware, and in that awareness become mindful and awake. This leads to a potential to find a healing balance between optimism and realism, between more-more-more and less-less-less. Start with what feels good or start with what feels bad. Then move from there to explore what that means in how it guides your choices, shapes your expectations and what it feels like when you can relax and not feel wanting. Feeling stuck in negative feelings? Do two positive things for every bad thing that comes your way. Even little things. Don't give up if it seems futile – it will come in time. This is about retraining your pleasure centre.

This might be a challenging time. One possibility is you could encounter delays or be blocked from something you want. In that case, there is probably a good reason for it, even if you don't see it or don't want to admit it. If you're trying too hard to make something happen that doesn't seem to want to happen, maybe it's not the right time or it's not something in your best interests. But there's a difference between obstacles that are meant to make you think twice and obstacles that are meant to be conquered and increase your strength. How do you tell the difference? Ah, that's the question, isn't it?

Your best resource right now is your intuition. But wait—intuition can be slippery and very prone to being shaped into what we want to be true. This intuition requires that you be extremely honest with yourself about what you're really feeling, sensing and observing. The urges, desires and impulses you feel could be your Higher Self prodding you into action, or they could be your hungry Inner Child going "I want!!" What is called for is a very stable Inner Adult who can keep both feet on the ground and assess what's really going on. Objectivity, patience and maturity, as well as being somewhat detached from the outcome.

This doesn't mean you have to be like a grouchy old parent who only knows how to say no to every fun idea – far from it! If you can keep from letting your Inner Kid run wild and out of control, then using your Inner Adult can provide the stability and structure you need to tap into some very healing energy through inspiration and optimism – realistic optimism. The trick is to avoid falling into an all-or-nothing mentality. Self-honesty is crucial, and is best done with compassion in a context of optimistic understanding and trust in the gradual process of transformation.
