Chart for the Full Moon in Taurus
Chart for the Full Moon in Taurus

Greetings, dear reader!

For this update, we are graced by the delightful and wise Leah Whitehorse who wrote the article for the Full Moon in Taurus, with my sincere thanks. Below, you will also find my own interpretation for the Sabian Symbol, along with the day-to-day transits for the next 2 weeks. I expect to be back again for the New Moon in Scorpio. In the meantime, you can read more of Leah's wisdom and insight at Lua Astrology.

Oct.24 – FULL MOON in TAURUS (01:13 of Taurus)

Often, when we think of Taurus, we think of placid and hardworking characteristics. Taurus is associated with the farmer. To me it brings up images of pastoral scenes of old England, paintings by John Constable, fields full of clover, the scent of ripe apples and fresh cut hay.

Taurus is a creative sign ruled by Venus in all her luscious sensuousness. It's farmhouse cakes packed full of dried fruits, cream teas, languid kisses and happy stomachs. I [Leah Whitehorse] am a Sun sign Taurus and I can attest to all of the above!

But there is also another side to Taurus. Just think of the Bull, the sign's totem, and you'll begin to get a feel for it. Whilst this Venus-ruled sign is gentle when treated well, start waving those red flags and you'll see the other side to it – and this too I can attest to. I have a terrifying temper, so I have been told!

Because nature always has a balance, an opposite, a black for a white, a day for a night. But those opposites are not ‘good' or bad'. Taurus, as first of the Earth signs reminds us that nature just IS. The fox kills the hen because it needs to eat or practice its hunting skills. It isn't evil or wrong or bad. It's simply in its nature as a predator.

There is only one kind of shock worse than
the totally unexpected: the expected for which
one has refused to prepare.
~ Mary Renault, The Charioteer

The Full Moon in Taurus brings us back to our instinctive nature and our relationship to the physical world around us. Thoughts arise such as how we feel about our bodies, the material possessions we have, money, how secure we feel. At this time of year (particularly in the Northern Hemisphere as winter approaches), we can become very conscious of what we have and what we don't have.

All Taurus wants is assurance that it has enough to survive. Opposite sign Scorpio is the reaper. This is why Taurus is sometimes associated with possessiveness and insecurity, because driving the need for physical comfort is the terror of death. It's survive (Taurus) or die (Scorpio). Taurus can be stubborn as a mule, stuck in the mud, old-fashioned and obstinate if it doesn't embrace its shadow.

Full Moon conjunct Uranus

This Full Moon is a culmination of events where we can touch base with all that we have acquired, inside and out, but there is a twist in the tale as the Full Moon is conjunct Uranus. This is a surprising harvest. We get something unexpected. It's a shock, it's a delight, either way, it's different.

Maybe we had a hint because Venus, ruler of this Full Moon, has been opposite to Uranus once already on September 12. The second opposition is exact on October 31. The last is on November 30. Venus is currently retrograde in opposite sign Scorpio, so we're being directed to look within and explore shadow material. In the modern world, money is often linked with power but even if our bank balance is rich, we can be poor in other ways, particularly if we don't value ourselves.

The world as we have created it is a process
of our thinking. It cannot be changed
without changing our thinking.
~ Albert Einstein

The Full Moon is on the Sabian symbol : An Electrical Storm. Storms are terrifying and awe-inspiring – usually both at once! Nature is so utterly unpredictable! This gives us a clue as to the nature of this Full Moon.

I don't know about you, but when I feel a storm coming, I get goosebumps. The hairs on my arms and the back of my neck raise as the static builds up. I become jittery, excited and a little scared. There's the anticipation, counting how long between a flash of lightning until the crack of thunder to gauge the storm's distance.

There's the rush of excitement when fork lightning turns the sky pink and you can smell the burn. Most often, when the storm breaks, you'll find me hanging out barefoot in the rain wearing a wild expression. Storms feel primal.

Something has been building for a while now. An imbalance has occurred. Venus, opposing the Full Moon is out of her comfort zone. Things feel complex (Scorpio) when they should be simple (Taurus). Venus opposing Uranus shows that we're dealing with problems in relationships, inner disharmony, financial instability.

Normally Taurus is a calm sign. It values things that stay the same. Change isn't on the menu. But paradoxically, there can be no stability without change. The constancy of the seasons themselves rely on change – spring to summer, autumn to winter.

Change is necessary and, deny it as we may,
in the end change is always inevitable.
~ Frances Hardinge, A Face Like Glass

Venus opposite Uranus shows that we need to make way for new perspectives, different ways of doing things, innovation. We need to wake up when it comes to how we're treating ourselves and each other. Our values too are changing.

Sun-Moon, Venus-Uranus, square Lunar Nodes

Note that the Moon-Sun, Venus-Uranus oppositions are square to the Nodes. This shows that the resolution of these issues is now of karmic consequence. This message is emphasised by the fact that the rulers of the Nodes (the Sun and Uranus) are also opposite one another.

With the South Node in Aquarius, we have been alienated, cold, on the fringes, remote, cut off, distant, too objective. With the North Node in Leo, the universe has asked us to step into the light, shine, show what we can do, demonstrate warmth, take part, reconnect with our inner child, play!

But maybe we can only really do these things when we wake up to how precious we are. If this Full Moon makes us feel a little crazy, it's because we need to shake ourselves free from old paradigms. Just as the land grows stale when planted with the same crops over and over, so too can our lives become stale when we continue to repeat the same old patterns.

Full Moon trine Saturn

The Moon represents our habitual responses born from the conditioning we received as a child. With the Moon conjunct Uranus, we may become more aware of habits that hold us back from evolving. We need to be free.

The Full Moon is supported by a trine to stable Saturn so even though Uranus may feel like a wild card, Saturn is there to reinforce us and hold us steady.

Whatever occurs during this time isn't likely to knock us off our feet. Rather, it's a brilliant flash of lightning, illuminating where we were in the dark before.

It's the exhilarating, thundering BOOM of truth, rattling us right down to our DNA, promising change is best for our long-term security. The storm breaks because it must to restore calm.

We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it. And so it is with you... we are in charge of our Attitudes.
~ Charles R. Swindoll

Oct.24 – Venus Retrograde sextile Saturn (04:21 of Scorpio/Capricorn)  (Oct.25 in AU)

It is possible to find some stability in your relationships and finances under this transit, especially if you are willing to negotiate fairly and realistically. You have increased ability to be disciplined about spending and budgeting, and to invest in hard work to maximise your earnings. Your ability to grasp the solid, realistic facts will help you choose wisely in your investments of both money and your interaction with others. Commitment and structure may be easier to approach and achieve than if you take risks now. Your self-worth can benefit from this transit because you may be less inclined to give in to mood swings. On the other hand, if you are prone to depression, you might want to be careful you don't become so grounded and stable that you lose touch with your sense of hope and potential. It is a good time to make concrete progress in matters involving beauty, love, harmony and balance. Keep your pleasures simple and humble for maximum benefit.

This is the second of 3 passes of this transit: Sep.12, Oct.24, Dec.16.

Oct.24 – Sun square North Lunar Node (01:19 of Scorpio/Leo)  (Oct.25 in AU)  ("What's a Lunar Node?")

When the Sun squares the Lunar Nodes, your sense of purpose and identity appear to be in conflict with the lessons you need to learn in life. It may feel like you're forced to take a detour around your direct route to your destination (whatever that might be). This may only be true on the surface – if you look deeper at the situation (or possibly in retrospect), you'll probably find that your sense of self is actually helped by the benefits that you are able to get on that detour, which would have missed if you hadn't been diverted from your original path.

Alternatively, you might be confronted by a conflict or stressful dilemma that you usually resist or flail against. This may be an opportunity to explore a deeper level of your experience and feelings. Perhaps there is fear or resentment or defiance behind your reaction. This is a chance to try on a different perspective and respond in a different way that can help you move through the situation instead of just being blocked by it.

When the Sun squares the Nodes it is sometimes called "Moon Wobbles," which is a bit of a misnomer. The Moon itself doesn't wobble or even necessarily interact directly with either the Nodes or the Sun. Rather, the Moon part of us (the inner, feeling, intuitive, sensitive part of us) may feel a bit "wobbly" or unsteady when the Sun squares the Nodes. The "Moon Wobble" effects are said to build and dissipate for up to 10 days before and after the Sun-Node square is exact.

Oct.26 – Sun conjunct Venus Retrograde (03:06 of Scorpio)  (Oct.27 in AU)  "What does Retrograde mean?"  Read more about Venus Retrograde.  Read even more about Venus Retrograde.  Read more again about Retrograde planets.)

When the Sun conjuncts Venus retrograde, it initiates a new beginning in all things related to Venus. That includes self-image, beauty, love, relationships, interaction, finances, resources, pleasure and sensuality. However, this new beginning is small and largely hidden, like a seed beneath the earth that is about to sprout. You are the co-gardener of your soul now, in partnership with the Universe. Therefore, be gentle, consistent and supportive of yourself, as you would a sprouting seed. You may not be clear on what the new beginning is until well after Venus goes direct, so be patient. Now is a good time to gather intuitive thoughts and impressions of what kind of changes you would like in Venus areas. Would you like to improve your self-image so that you are more loving and accepting of yourself? Perhaps you would like to stabilise your material security and help it grow gradually? Or maybe you want to bring more pleasure and harmony to your relationships and interactions with others? Start by connecting to the loving and blessed person inside yourself first.

Here are the key dates of this Venus cycle (for North American Eastern Time):

Oct.28 – Australia moves ahead to Daylight Saving Time

If you live in the Australia region of the South Pacific, and if your region observes Daylight Saving Time, it's time to move your clocks one hour FORWARD. If you're not sure if this applies to you, check the change dates for your location on

Oct.27 – Sun sextile Saturn (04:37 of Scorpio/Capricorn)  (Oct.28 in NDT, UK, AU)

You have an opportunity now to make some progress in obtaining results in your projects, career, ambitions and creative expression. It is possible to tap into a disciplined mindset, which can be used to take some steps toward goals that you're trying to manifest. You are surrounded by potential to achieve this, although it will not simply be handed to you – you will still have to work for it. Your mind and purpose are likely to be clear and strong now, enabling you to be decisive and productive. Leadership, management and organizing abilities are potentially high right now. Asserting your authority in a situation that calls for it can be done successfully, as long as you don't let yourself become rigid or bossy. It can be a good time to learn or practice new skills, or to apply yourself to any kind of serious study. It is also a time when you could formulate some solid plans for future projects or make some progress with current undertakings. Make the most of it!

Oct.28 – Mercury enters the Retrograde Shadow (27:16 of Scorpio; until Dec.24)  (Oct.29 in UK, AU)   ("What's the Shadow?"  Read my articles about Retrograde Cycles.  Read my article about Mercury Retrograde.)

Mercury is now "in the Shadow" – the area of Zodiac where it will later go retrograde in about 2½ weeks time. During its retrograde cycle, Mercury travels through the same span of the Zodiac three times (called the Shadow). The first time through, it is going in direct motion (moving forward), then retrograde (looks like it's going backwards), and then direct again. This means there is a more extensive process of development and change involved with things that Mercury influences—ideas, thoughts, frame of mind and mental focus. It also concerns the collection, exchange, analysis and organisation of information. All forms of communication are also affected. This includes not just talking, but also email and snail mail, the Internet, the media in general, books and magazines, as well as public transit (buses, trains, etc.) and neighbourhoods.

The situations developing over the next couple of weeks (leading up to when Mercury actually goes retrograde) will likely require further research, deeper consideration and adjustments to unexpected discoveries over the next couple of months. Expect changes in your plans, increasingly disrupted communication, and new information coming to light that may not fit conveniently into your plans. It's wise to leave lots of extra time to do things, to plan future projects and get to wherever you're going. Patience is a valuable quality during this time. If you must make important decisions during this time, try to build some flexibility into your plans to allow for later changes—or if possible, you may want to delay final or irrevocable decisions until well after Mercury goes direct.

Mercury makes 3 passes of the following transits during this retrograde cycle:

Here are the key dates of this Mercury cycle (for North American Eastern Time):

Oct.29 – Mercury conjunct Jupiter (27:49 of Scorpio)

This aspect can make you quite talkative and your mind flooded with ideas. Be careful you don't blurt out any secrets! Your stream of consciousness ideas can flow abundantly right now with optimism and visionary possibilities. Write down your best ideas for later development, since you may be having too much fun playing with ideas, to stop and make them manifest. Basic perceptions and simple communication can provide food for thought that feeds your greater understanding and philosophical insight. Your point of view expands to identify opportunities, possibilities and the broader implications of what is happening around you. You might get a flash of vision, insight and inspiration. You could be called upon to form an opinion, consider a different viewpoint, expand your knowledge, or make a judgement call. Your conscious awareness is open to spiritual experiences right now.

This is the first of 3 passes of this transit: Oct.29, Nov.27, Dec.21.

Oct.29 – Mercury trine Chiron (28:36 of Scorpio/Pisces)  (Oct.30 in UK, AU)

Your mental focus and communication now get an injection of healing energy. Cynicism and depression may soften now, as you become more receptive to a more optimistic viewpoint. If you have been caught up in escapism or "stinkin' thinkin'" (thinking you're more in control of your impulses than you really are), you may now find some relief and healing. Mental argument and critical "self-talk" can now find some reconciliation and acceptance that brings some peace of mind. You have increased ability to find the right words and understanding to help others with their problems. Compassion and empathy may be more accessible because you can identify your own experiences with what you see in others. You might also find someone who can give you good advice or support about your own problems – possibly a teacher or mentor – or you could become this to someone else.

This is the first of 3 passes of this transit: Oct.29, Dec.04, Dec.09.

Oct.30 – Venus Retrograde square North Lunar Node (00:37 of Scorpio/Leo)  (Nov.01 in UK, AU)  ("What's a Lunar Node?")

Perhaps you're finding that the people in your life are not being as supportive, encouraging or cooperative as you thought they would be, in terms of helping you fulfil your life purpose. Someone might suddenly withdraw their support, or maybe they contradict or interfere with what you're trying to do with your life. Perhaps an argument or disagreement happens and the upset, stress or hard feelings that result seem to cast a shadow on how you feel about your life. If this happens, it's possible that what you disagree about is something you should look at more closely. Are you responding to this situation in a way that truly reflects your values? Or perhaps your values need to be reconsidered. The agreement or balance of priorities between you might need to be renegotiated. This transit might also manifest as problems around finances or possessions, which requires some adjustment on your part. Since this transit usually lasts only a few days, in most cases its effects will not be major. If it does bring up some significant issues, it is probably hinting at a deeper issue, and you would be wise to look at the problem beyond the current circumstances. Other transits (especially to your natal chart) can give you more information about the nature of the situation.

This is the second of 3 passes of this transit: Sep.16, Oct.30, Nov.28.

Oct.31 – Mercury enters Sagittarius (until Dec.01)  (Oct.30 in HAST, AKDT, PDT, MDT, CDT)

Communication, ideas, thoughts and perceptual "spark" become expanded in Sagittarius. Your mental focus tends toward a philosophical and spiritual outlook that seeks the highest truth in the broadest context. However, it's not always easy for the conscious mind to assimilate and digest such a vast territory of knowledge, or to find the higher meaning in mountains of raw information. You might feel a bit overwhelmed by trying to take in such a panoramic view of your world, but the gifts from doing so are abundant and inspiring! To get the most out of this transit, try learning something new that expands your horizon. Or pick a situation in your life and imagine that you're looking at it from a mountaintop – what do you see from way up there that you can't see when you're closer to the ground? Just remember that whatever visions and insights you get from doing this, these are SOME of the truths to be found, but not necessarily the only truth. Leave room in your new understanding to remember that every mountaintop shows a slightly different view and that this doesn't make one mountain right and the others wrong.

Oct.31 – Venus Retrograde opposite Uranus (00:15 of Scorpio/Taurus)  (Oct.30 in HAST)

Relationships, social interaction, material resources and emotional balance may be a bit unpredictable or unstable around this time, as Uranus the Awakener sounds a wake-up gong in these areas. You may be more inclined to act out of character, to experiment or be reckless in relationship, social or financial matters, which could be liberating or disturbing, exciting or upsetting. Circumstances or other people might create a situation in which you are forced to respond in an unusual or unfamiliar way. The idea behind this energy is to become more flexible and more open to a broader vision of what is possible in those areas. There may be weak spots in the affected areas which this transit illuminates by creating problems, so that they can be repaired and strengthened, or else broken and released so that new opportunities can come in. Trust the process and keep your eyes open to seeing new truth and insight.

This is the second of 3 passes of this transit: Sep.12, Oct.31, Nov.30.

Oct.31 – Mercury trine North Lunar Node (00:37 of Sagittarius/Leo)  (Nov.01 in AU)  ("What's a Lunar Node?")

Today, and up to a couple of days before and after, things can feel like they're starting to make sense. What you read, hear and observe may seem more obvious and your ability to put this into words could flow more easily. You might identify and figure out how to utilize the tools, skills, assets and ideas that could bring you further down the road toward whatever destination you're pointed toward. However, a reality check about how wise it might be to act on these ideas and benefits is still a good idea. Write down good ideas to follow up with later.

This is the first of 3 passes of this transit: Oct.31, Dec.04, Dec.07

Oct.31 – Venus Retrograde enters Libra (until Dec.02)  (Nov.01 in AU)

Venus is retrograde in Libra, so you might be drawn to reach out and connect with others more, especially people you haven't seen for a while. However, you might feel a bit awkward, shy or hesitant about doing this, and not know why. Your urge to connect with others socially, romantically or sexually could be quite strong, but then so is Libra's famous indecisiveness. So, for example, you might want to make a connection with someone but hesitate, uncertain if your attention would be welcome or not. Conversely, you might feel the need to withdraw into a more secluded state and rejuvenate your relationship with yourself. Others may try to persuade you to join them but your instinct might be to stay behind. This might stem from inhibition, insecurity, uncertainty or discomfort with the people or the activity, or it could simply reflect a desire to reconnect with yourself and become more balanced within yourself.

During this time, agreements might become strained in the places where they are weak and therefore might need to be renegotiated. If the agreement is no longer workable, it could break down completely and the whole basis for it might need to be reconsidered from "square one." Creative endeavours could either become especially inspired during the retrograde period, or might seem to go into hibernation during this time. Remember that Libra is all about balance, so whatever Venus does during her retrograde time will usually swing the pendulum the other way, in order to balance out something in your life that needs to be rebalanced.

Agreements of all kinds may need to be renegotiated, which could be anything from legal contracts to verbal understandings. Your assumptions about what was agreed to or what that would look like could be called into question. This is a good time to put yourself in the other person's shoes and see the situation from their side. This could help bridge the differences between what you each believed to be true or acceptable.

Venus is retrograde in Libra (in whole or in part) every 8 years from 2010 to 2154. Some of the years when Venus is retrograde in Libra include: 2010, 2018, 2026, 2034, 2042, 2050 and beyond. Before 2010 Venus hadn't been retrograde in Libra since 1903.

Nov.01 – Jupiter trine Chiron (258:31 of Scorpio/Pisces)  (Nov.02 in AU)

Trines often have a way of passing by unnoticed, which is usually because the energy just allows things to feel "as they should be." As a result, you may find you just coast along and relax, basking in the break in the usual turmoil without thinking about it much. In this case, you may experience this relaxation from stress in the areas of physical health and/or mental outlook. Much depends on where your "wound" is – physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, social, etc. As a result, you might go through a couple/few weeks of feeling more optimistic about things that usually feel difficult or stressful. You may find it easier to feel good about yourself, your life, your body, etc. Or you might feel more accepted or included by a world in which you often feel awkward or alienated. This shift in energy might come to you through an opportunity or event that allows things to fall into place more easily, or you might become open to a new mental perspective that gives you fresh hope for improvement.

There's a chance that this transit might also aggravate that "woundedness" in some way. Jupiter often amplifies whatever it touches, so if you are struggling with physical health issues, low self-esteem, feeling socially out of sync or overly cynical, this transit might magnify those issues and lead you to want to hide out in the dark recesses of your cave. The good news is that if this happens, it gives you a chance to take a close-up look at what is haunting you, and if you pay attention it could lead you into a new way of dealing with it all. If you get stuck in just feeling overwhelmed by it all, take some time out to do things that remind you of how things could look when viewed in a positive light. For example, do something to pamper your body, or listen to music that soothes the soul, or do something to decorate your cave, or go outside to a place that nourishes your spirit.

Nov.02 – Mercury goes Out of Bounds (03:14 of Sagittarius; OOB until Nov.20)  (Nov.03 in AU)   ("What does Out of Bounds mean?"   "What is Declination?")

Mercury goes Out of Bounds (OOB), giving us a chance to peek into ideas and observations beyond our usual thoughts, awareness and comfort zone. The "air up there" can be a bit rarefied. If you're not used to it (and even if you are), your thoughts might seem almost a bit drunk, confused, inspired or flowing so freely that it's hard to capture them clearly. If you do catch one of these thoughts clearly, remember that it's an idea, not necessarily reality, even though you could use it to create a new reality for yourself. Your mental peripheral vision can become expanded, taking in more information than usual. You may have a chance to manifest it more clearly when Mercury returns from "outer space."

Another effect that is common while Mercury is OOB is that it can feel like Mercury is retrograde, even when it's not. Weird things often happen, including confusion and things seeming to be generally out-of-synch. As with the actual Mercury retrograde, it's best to give yourself a bit more time to get to appointments, drive more carefully, double-check information and give everyone around you a bit more patience, since they're going through this too.

Like all things in astrology and life, Mercury OOB has its upside and its downside. Much depends on which thoughts you feed and what you feed them with. If you consume fear, suspicion, anger or hostility, you could find yourself feeling a bit paranoid, easily angered, or looking for ways to cheat in order to avoid anticipated negativity. On the upside, you may discover a fresh understanding about things, putting new pieces of the puzzle into place and tapping into a higher level of truth and insight. Try writing down your ideas, perceptions, thoughts and moods. After Mercury comes back down to earth, you can see how you can put those observations and ideas to good use.

Nov.04 – North America rolls back to Standard Time

If you live in Canada, United States, the Caribbean or some areas of Central and South America, and if your region observes Daylight Saving Time, it's time to move your clocks one hour BACK. If you're not sure if this applies to you, check the change dates for your location on

Nov.06 – Sun trine Neptune (13:47 of Scorpio/Pisces)  (Nov.05 in HAST, AKST, PST, MST)

Faith in the bountiful blessings of the Universe is within reach under this transit...but then, so is the fantasy that you will be magically granted anything you wish for. Hope, optimism and imagination spring eternal right now, which can bring some relief from any depression or discouragement you might be feeling. Your creativity can become very inspired under this transit. Your sense of self could also get an infusion of uplifting vision. And you experience a sense of mission, feeling that you are truly a Child of the Universe. There is potential to lift you out of the ordinary and into the sublime – spiritually, creatively, romantically or compassionately. Enjoy it while it lasts, but before you make changes based on what might feel like a permanent condition, remember that this is mostly a temporary influence and you will still have to live within the bounds of the physical world after it passes. Don't make overly optimistic promises now, that you will have to fulfil later when the euphoria wears off.

Nov.06 – Mercury-Sun Greatest Elongation as Evening Star (14:00 of Sagittarius)   ("What's the Shadow?"  Read my articles about Retrograde Cycles.  Read my article about Mercury Retrograde.)

Mercury reaches his greatest elongation from the Sun approximately today. He is as far away from the Sun (from Earth's perspective) and as high in the western sky after sunset, as he's going to get during this period when he is known as the Evening Star. But it not easy to spot Mercury! He's extremely faint, and seen only in a clear sunset sky when it's dark enough, just above the horizon.

Greatest elongation occurs a few days after Mercury enters the Retrograde Shadow. It tends to bring clarity, when thoughts, awareness and decisions may come into sharper focus. It can be a good time to consider your path ahead, as well as to reconsider what you want to carry with you from past. A word of caution, though – thoughts that are clear aren't necessarily the best ones to act on. If you're in an emotional or volatile frame of mind, there's a risk of letting those feelings overwhelm or dilute your mental clarity. It's better to keep mind and feelings in a balanced awareness, with a little more emphasis on objectivity and thinking twice before you act.

Here are the key dates of this Mercury cycle (for North American Eastern Time):

Nov.06 – Uranus square True North Lunar Node (00:00 of Taurus/Leo)  (Nov.07 in AU)  ("What's a Lunar Node?")

You may find that your best-chosen plans or even the whole direction of your life go off the rails under this transit. This is often a time of unexpected changes that may force you to completely refocus where you're going. Either way, you will need to re-examine what's really important to you and what is a more accurate reflection of who you are beyond the roles you play in society and in the eyes of others.

This is a good time to check in with yourself to see if the life you're building for yourself and the dreams you are moving toward really fit you anymore. Some aspects of these might need to be reviewed and recalibrated to match who you are now, as opposed to who you were when you set off in that direction. To do that, it might be necessary for you to get pulled off course for a little while so that you can unhook yourself from the habitual steps you're taking along your current path. That way you can take a more objective look at the larger picture of who you are, who you are becoming and how you want to get there.

The upside of this transit is that if you don't try to resist it or deny it, it can bring in a lot of excitement to your life! The key is to be a bit detached from what's happening—that is, let go of wanting a specific outcome and just be open to what is going on. You have a rare chance to glimpse life from a whole new perspective!

If something important in your life is suddenly taken "offline" (which may or may not include technology), it's a good time to see where you're at, beyond the context of your current life vision and goals. Do you still feel the same way about your life direction? Is there something about it that feels like it should be changed? Or maybe you even want to throw it out and start from scratch. Whatever impulse you feel, the time is NOW. Use your best judgment, take your best aim and make that change.

It has to be noted that Uranus and the Nodes are at EXACTLY 0° (00:00) of their respective signs! In fact, they change signs less than an hour apart. I've never seen this before! The chances of all points being at exactly zero degrees, zero minutes, is probably astronomical. What does it mean? This transit is likely to bring out very primal, pure energy. Normally this energy would have a strong external focus. However, both Uranus and the Nodes are retrograde and move into their respective previous signs (Uranus back into Aries and the Nodes into Cancer/Capricorn). As a result, this energy could have a more internal focus, meaning that even if you pick up on shifting energies outside of you, the impact could be on a more subjective level. Put another way, any external events may have a stronger internal impact on you than on the external circumstances.

Nov.06 – True North Lunar Node enters Cancer (until May.05.2020)  (Nov.07 in AU)   ("What's a Lunar Node?")

When the North Lunar Node is in Cancer, its opposite point, the South Lunar Node is in Capricorn. Together they form an axis of energy which, in this case, moves toward Cancer and away from Capricorn. At the North Node, you take in the energy; you take on new awareness and learning and you confront (or are confronted by) new challenges. For roughly a year and a half, you are learning about Cancer energy: nurturing, caring and feeling, as well as safety, family and the past. It relates to feminine energy in general and the cyclical nature of day-to-day life. You might be called upon to take care of someone, or perhaps to admit your own need for nurturing and then reach out and ask for support. Your family might require your participation, or even your "chosen family" – the friends and loves ones who feel like family in your adult years. It may also be a time when you need to learn how to take care of yourself more effectively. Memories and how you relate to the past could become a focus, as you may need to face old issues and unresolved feelings in order to deal with situations in the present.

At the South Node (Capricorn, in this case), we let go of something that is no longer needed. Once you've learned the lesson of the South Node, you release it; move it from the foreground to the background. Capricorn is about structure, rules, ambition and what you build or achieve in your life. It's about authority and whose to whom we give allegiance and respect – or it can be our resistance or rebellion against authority. What you need to let go of in Capricorn depends on what you're holding onto, which might be your unquestioning agreement with authority, or perhaps learning to accept the decisions of the person in charge instead of rebelling. You might need to let go of your expectations of others, requiring them to follow your lead "because I say so," and instead give direction and guidance based on your empathy, tenderness and kindness. It might also be wise to resist the urge to look to others for direction and instead act on what you know your own needs to be.

The Cancer-Capricorn themes will also play out in the houses in your natal chart where these signs reside, taking on challenges of the house where the North Node is and letting go of the baggage related to the opposite house where the South Node is.

The North Node is in Cancer during these times:

Nov.06 – Uranus enters Aries (until Mar.06.2019)  (Nov.07 in AU)  (Read about the Personal and Transpersonal sides of Uranus in Aries)

Uranus retrogrades back into Aries for 4 more months, capping off an 8-year journey through that sign (2010 to 2018). This has been one wild ride! As Uranus goes back for one more romp, this is a good time to look back and think of all the ways the world has changed since Uranus first went into Aries. How has your personal life changed during that time? What would the old You think of your life now? Did you anticipate what life would be like 8 years into the future? Where do you see yourself in another 8 years?

Where are you still stuck in your life? Perhaps afraid to let go of something or someone that doesn't seem to fit you as well as it/they once did? Or perhaps you're not ready to let go, but things are not working well – what to do? What is one thing you could change over the next couple of months that would help the situation? Maybe there are changes you need to make but can't bring yourself to take the leap? Uranus in Aries can provide extra support to make the change.

Nov.07 – Jupiter trine True North Lunar Node (29:48 of Scorpio/Cancer)  ("What's a Lunar Node?")

For up to a week or so before and after today, you may feel inspired and excited about the possibilities that are open to you. You could be filled with visions of dramatic improvements that can grace your life. You might also feel unusually connected to a greater context of life; for example, expanding your horizons through travel or making progress, or having a clearer sense of your role in the greater scheme of things. This can be a good time to dream about future possibilities and bring your goals into crystal clarity. Just remember that wishing doesn't make it so – it will still take hard work to manifest and sustain that vision. So keep it loose and flexible, so you can adjust the potential to fit your realistic ability to make it happen.
