Be humble for you are made of earth.
Be noble for you are made of stars.
~ Serbian proverb

Sep.14 – FULL MOON in PISCES (21:05 of Pisces)

There are currently about 600 planets in Virgo (give or take a dozen): Sun, Mercury, Venus and Mars, along with miscellaneous bits of space dust like asteroids.

This Virgo Stellium puts quite a pointed edge on one's nose as it hits the proverbial grindstone. In other words, there's a lot of work to be done, and Virgo is just the gal who can make sure it's done right.

But just when you thought all your ducks would finally line up in a nice, neat, tidy row, along comes this Pisces Full Moon to scatter them to the winds where they disappear into the fog. The reason: not only does the Pisces Moon polarize to those 600-or-so planets in Virgo, it is also conjunct nebulous Neptune.

But wait—there's more! ;-)

Jupiter forms a T-square aspect pattern with the Moon-Neptune and Sun-Mars opposition. One thing this does is bring the Jupiter-Neptune square, that has haunted our skies this year, into vivid focus. This is especially significant because it involves both the traditional and modern planetary rulers of Pisces – Jupiter and Neptune. So, this is an magnified view of that Jupiter-Neptune square energy—and just in time to see the final pass of that square aspect on September 21st (previously January 13 and June 16).

T-Square aspect pattern

This T-square radiates an aura within you and around you that you might experience as glowing or perhaps a bit creepy, ranging from brilliant faith to murky uncertainty; from disappointment to wide-eyed optimism; and from unfounded wishful assumptions to learning to see the best in even the harshest reality.

So, the short version of this article is: your best laid plans may dissolve away in the ebb and flow of Piscean tides – might as well get drunk and go with it. ;-)

But seriously: this Full Moon is a challenge that (at worst) might leave you feeling a bit stranded up the river without a paddle, or (at best) it could inspire you to fine-tune your ability to reshape your aspirations, goals, coping skills and struggles in accordance with your optimistic dreams.

The cosmos is within us. We are made of star-stuff.
We are a way for the universe to know itself.
~ Carl Sagan

The chart's planets have a See-saw distribution pattern, meaning the planets are divided into two primary groups on opposite ends of the chart. It suggests there is a dichotomy to be dealt with – a contradiction, or the need to integrate opposing perspectives.

Personal planets

One side has fast-moving, so-called Personal Planets (Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars). These planets are about energies that involve you personally. Your identity and vitality (Sun). Your thoughts and ideas, daily routines and habits (Mercury). Spending, saving, socializing, beautifying and interacting (Venus). And your desires, ambitions and actions (Mars).

On the other side of the chart are all the Outer and Transpersonal Planets (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto and Chiron). These planets have to do with society and grand-scale changes in the world; the greater context around you that impacts and shapes both your outer and inner worlds.

Transpersonal planets

This includes morality, biases, and how you assess what is good or bad (Jupiter). The roles you play in the world and the expectations and limitations that shape the structure of your world (Saturn). Technology, groups you are involved with, and your vision of the collective future (Uranus). Religion, spirituality, faith and misconceptions (Neptune).

Power structures, and situations where you are in control and those where you are not (Pluto). The situations that feel intolerable, pushing you to find coping mechanisms, and those that feel regenerative and healing, helping you find a new balance between your inner and outer world (Chiron).

Your profession is not what brings home your weekly paycheck, your profession is what you're put here on earth to do, with such passion and such intensity that it becomes spiritual in calling.
~ Vincent van Gogh

The one exception that breaks this Personal/Transpersonal divide is the Moon. Right now, she is a sensitively Personal planet floating in a Transpersonal ocean of larger-than-life energy. This Moon challenges you to find ways to bridge the gap between subjective and objective. Between the Ego and Id versus the Superego. Between who you are as an individual just trying to make your way in the world and minding your own business, versus seeing yourself as part of a greater collective.

Moon with Transpersonal planets

Since the Moon symbolizes a part of your psyche that's about seeking safety when feeling vulnerable, and the need for personal care on all levels of consciousness, you might find you feel a bit overwhelmed or lost within powers far beyond your immediate control or comprehension.

So, on one hand you might be focused on being busy, getting stuff done, absorbed in the minutia of day-to-day life, organizing your life to fit all the bits and pieces together into your schedule—mundane things that get you from one day to the next.

On the other hand, you could also be busy collecting and connecting the dots that flesh out the bigger picture of whatever you're trying to accomplish. Or, you might be balancing your personal needs, insecurities, urges and feelings against what you might see as the Greater Good of the world around you or the greater potential of who you could become.

While the everyday stuff demands your attention, there is a higher, more meaningful perspective calling your name. It urges you to step out of yourself and take a look at the vast world that surrounds you. That world may be so taken for granted that you don't even think to question it, like asking a fish to be curious about the water it lives in. Or, if you are already immersed in a heightened awareness of the forces around you, you might be challenged to look closer, to identify a different, "higher" path you could take through it all.

"The truth." Dumbledore sighed. "It is a beautiful
and terrible thing, and should therefore
be treated with great caution."
~ J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

The Moon is conjunct Neptune and square Jupiter, so the temptation for escapism, avoidance and denial can start to look like a much easier alternative. Neptune is associated with drugs and alcohol and addiction in general, and Jupiter is famous for its tendency to overindulge and blow things out of proportion. So, caution and awareness are good resources to keep handy in your inner toolbox.

T-Square aspect pattern

A little escapism can be a good thing—for example, when it's used to buy yourself some extra time to ease yourself more gradually into a realization that is uncomfortable, difficult, upsetting or disappointing. Just remember that a little escapism goes a long way, and if you disconnect excessively from what you're trying to avoid, you may only be making your situation worse in the long run.

This is a time when it's important to trust the process. Keep your eyes and your mind open to what you see from your unique, personal perspective. But don't force it – let it come to you. Revelations, intuitions, clarity, or flashes of insight are possible at this time. And remember that you're still only seeing part of the whole picture.

Stress in today's world is pretty much the norm on a daily basis, so we don't really need astrology to remind us that we're surrounded by it, do we? But it can help to have this confirmed – you're really not going crazy! These days, if you're not feeling overwhelmed, worn out, freaked out, depressed, anxious, lost or exhausted to some degree, then you're just not paying attention.

So, this Full Moon time could accentuate those feelings somewhat, which can make escape look very enticing. Examples include binging on alcohol, drugs, food, TV, video games, social media, shopping, work, working out, travel, etc. Not all of those things are bad, of course—it's only when you go overboard and lose yourself in them to the point where you aren't functioning well, that they tend to be a problem.

With Jupiter squaring both sides of the Full Moon, along with Mars and Neptune, overindulging in your diversion of choice is a definite possibility.

Persistence. Perfection. Patience. Power.
Prioritize your passion. It keeps you sane.
~ Criss Jami, Killosophy

Enter: the Capricorn Cartel. Saturn and Pluto, with the South Lunar Node forming a bridge between them, and all of them in Capricorn. Uh-huh. Remember them? Authenticity with an attitude. Reality with an agenda. Transformation of the status quo with a wrecking ball. Renovation that rebuilds for the long-term. Rules, standards, benchmarks, norms and expectations held up to weigh the worth, importance, purpose and merit of yourself and others, often with harsh judgments for those who don't measure up.

Not exactly a soft Piscean-New-Moon aura to wrap yourself up in a fluffy feather comforter. But right now, these heavy planets do have their usefulness. For one thing, they contribute more Earth energy to the chart—not that it actually needs more Earth, with 600-or-so planets in Earthy Virgo, but as we've seen, those Virgo busy bees are a bit stressed at the moment and could use a bit of support. And with all that Water, with the Moon and Neptune in Pisces, building more structure can help to keep the energy flowing effectively and smoothly.

Wedge aspect pattern

Saturn and Pluto form a Wedge aspect pattern with the Virgo-Pisces axis. In other words, Saturn and Pluto make a smooth, easy-going trine aspect to the Sun and Mars (120°) and a creative, cooperative sextile to the Moon and Neptune (60°). The apex planet(s)—Saturn and Pluto, in this case—can provide diversion or supportive camaraderie or a creative outlet for the stress of the Virgo-Pisces opposition.

Think of it this way: what benefits could Plutonian Darth Vader and the Saturnian Devil Who Wore Prada offer to the Virgoan Mary Poppins bickering with the Piscean Don Quixote?

On one hand, the Virgo delegation want to "make busy" to keep themselves occupied and sharply focused. On the other hand, the Moon and Neptune buddies want to cut work early and go get sloshed at the pub. Meanwhile, Saturn and Pluto are stepping in to remind the Pisceans about the benefits of sticking to the plan until it's finished, and reassuring the Virgoans that they don't have to do it all themselves since they have both Earthy and Watery allies—if they'll stop insisting that everything must be 110% perfect.

Saturn and Pluto are here to tell us that the benefits outweigh the consequences of pretending it doesn't matter and quitting prematurely, as well as burying yourself in so much work that you don't have time to think about whether you're truly fulfilling your potential and life purpose.

Add to this the fact that Saturn is stationary right now, getting ready to turn Direct in just 4 days. This gives some substantial extra weight to his power of persuasion – "You DO agree to stick with the plan and stay out of trouble, if you know what's good for you, okay...??"

I believe there's a calling for all of us. I know that every human being has value and purpose.
The real work of our lives is to become aware. And awakened. To answer the call.
~ Oprah Winfrey

This Full Moon chart is about movement, change, adjustment and fine-tuning. It's not about staying still or staying stuck. Having a galaxy-full of planets in Mutable signs (7 out of 10) is one reason for this. Another is the fact that Uranus in Taurus is the only planet in a Fixed sign – but when you want some Fixed stability and endurance, erratic Uranus is not exactly your first choice.

Hard Wedge aspect pattern

In addition, Uranus creates a disruptive, provocative Hard Wedge aspect pattern with the Sun and Moon (sesqui-quadrate and semi-square aspects, respectively). The Hard Wedge is a bit like a T-square, since it involves aspects from the square aspect family (based on 90°), but can be especially thorny and sharp-edged, like it's prodding you into action.

This is yet another indication that whatever your Virgo is cooking up might need to go through a few more revisions before the final version is ready to roll. And since we're talking about Uranus, there is likely to be a surprising quality to this. On the downside, a problem that needs to be solved might pop up unexpectedly. On the upside, you might discover an unconventional resource or an experimental seed of an idea that can help get you unstuck or take a leap forward.

What could potentially complicate this blessing (or blessing-in-disguise) is Mars, the planet of movement and taking action. On the plus side, he is trine Saturn (120°) which can help to stabilize and focus Mars' energy. With Saturn's help, Mars in Virgo knows what needs to be done and how to do it effectively and efficiently.

On the other hand, Mars is also precisely opposite Neptune (180° – just one teeny-tiny minute of orb shy of being exact!). And Mars and Neptune are also precisely contra-parallel, meaning they're aligned in an axis both by sign/degree and by their distance from the equator, similar to a Lunar Eclipse. This adds extra intensity to their combined effect.

On the downside, this could lead to second-guessing your motives, and being unclear about what is the best direction to take or why or how. At best, Mars opposite Neptune could stimulate action and courage through an inspiring ideology or sense of higher purpose. At worst, it might make that far-off goal look just perfect, when in fact it could be based on invalid, misleading or even deceptive assumptions.

If you find yourself teetering at a cliff-edge, unable to find the courage to jump, take a step back for a bit. Give yourself the space and time to analyze the pros and cons, and double-check your facts. You might be picking up that something isn't quite what you think it is, or you might just be a bit overwhelmed about the consequences of making the wrong choice.

Ask yourself: what is the worst thing that could happen, and is that necessarily the worst possible thing? Of course you wouldn't want that to happen, but as unpleasant or difficult as it might be, you would probably survive it and deal with it, right? See if you're intimidating yourself by believing your decision must be 100% perfect or it's 100% bad. The all-or-nothing stalemate robs you of the opportunity to make your own decision. Give yourself permission to mess up without judging yourself as being a total failure. And if you're struggling with a decision that someone else must make, the same applies – avoid all-or-nothing perspectives.

I've always believed there are moments in our lives which can be defined
as a transition between the before and after, between the cause and the effect.
~ Benjamin X. Wretlind, Castles: A Fictional Memoir of a Girl with Scissors

Last but not least, we have both Mercury and Venus conjunct at 29° of Virgo. This would be momentous enough, to have a merging of planetary energies in the final degree of a sign. But this is especially so because Mercury is the ruler of Virgo, where those 600 planets currently reside.

A planet in the final degree of a sign is intense! It is pregnant with experience and learning from its journey through that sign, and ready to take it to the next level in the sign it's about to step into. But when we take a snapshot of the sky (as we do in an astrology chart), it freezes that planet in a kind of "pregnant pause" as it hovers in the middle of the doorway to the next sign.

This final-degree moment can feel like that cliff-edge we talked about with the Mars-Neptune opposition – do I take the leap, or should I take one more look around first? Do I click Send or do one more spell-check? So, you might feel a bit undecided about something you're doing.

Alternatively, you might be itching to get on with it, yet it seems like life is moving in slow motion and your destination just keeps getting farther away, like the so-called endless hallway scene in the movie Poltergeist. So near and yet so far!

This involves Mercury and Venus in partile conjunction (same degree). Normally, these two strolling together arm-in-arm brings the potential for artistic and creative ideas, music to your ears, social interaction, using words to harmonize and connect with others, persuasive sharing of ideas, and negotiating strategies and agreements.

Being in Virgo, this especially applies to things having to do with health, service, organizing and fine-tuning. It also relates to things that began at the New Moon in Virgo (Aug.30) and have developed over the last couple of weeks. Since both planets apply to an opposition to Chiron (which become exact after they enter Libra, later the same day as the Full Moon), the emphasis could be more on health, repair, reinforcement and renewal, especially in a context of relationships and interaction.

So, all that Virgo urging to triple-check your details and fine-tune your plans is about to pay off. A Full Moon is the fruition of whatever began at the New Moon, and you're just at the jumping off point—in mid-leap, in fact. You might feel a bit like you're stuck or suspended, but it will help to be patient and trust the process.

If you've done your homework and covered your bases as best you could, then you've done all you can. And if you couldn't get to everything, there will still be time to knit together some of the loose ends. After all, the Sun and Mars will still be in Virgo for a while longer.

Just don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good, as they say. "Good enough" may not be perfect, but it's still "good enough." And it could save you a lot of sanity and minimize the chance of burnout.

In the space between chaos and shape,
there was another chance.

Wedge aspect pattern

Sep.14 – Mars opposite Neptune (17:12 of Virgo/Pisces)  (Sep.13 in HST, AKDT, PDT, MDT)

For up to a week before and after today, you have a chance to discover and work with your blind spots and the hidden motives that trip you up. You can get a better look at the ideals, hopes, longing and dreams that motivate you. Your actions may reach for heights of inspiration or the ecstasy of surrender. This could bring release of tension...or an encounter with illusion and deception – and it might not be easy to know which is which. It could feel like you are spinning your wheels or "shadow-boxing" and not sure why. You may be dealing with a hidden agenda or unconscious motives (yours or someone else's). You might be trying to apply a proactive solution to an ambiguous situation, and wonder why it doesn't work very well. Responding to conflicts or obstacles in a passive-aggressive or manipulative way could be tempting under this transit, since it may be hard to know how to take direct and effective action. Resentment might become a defiant way to express "toothless" anger. Part of the problem may be that you are fighting against your own unconscious idealism. Feelings of disappointment, helplessness or frustration may bring up deeper feelings from your unconscious, making it difficult to know how to respond effectively in the here-and-now. Being honest with yourself about what's really going on inside you will go a long way toward increasing your empowerment.

Sep.14 – Mercury enters Libra (until Oct.03)  (Sep.13 in HST, AKDT)

Mercury glides into Libra, bringing awareness and new ideas about your style of interaction and how you communicate with others. It may be easier to speak (and listen) with gentleness, fairness and diplomacy during this time. Thoughts, ideas, communication and negotiation could reach a state of increased balance and harmony, and you may be especially sensitive to other people and your environment. You could be more motivated to balance criticism or anger with gentleness and diplomacy. On the other hand, interaction could also become a carefully crafted game in which truth, honesty and facts are replaced by manipulative strategy and "white lies" designed to avoid hurt feelings. Indecision and "fence sitting" are possible under this transit, since you are able than usual to see many different sides of a situation. It might help to bounce your ideas and thoughts off someone who can be a good sounding board and give you feedback. It may be easier now to reach a win-win solution to conflicts, which is fair to all concerned – but be careful you don't make incorrect or self-serving assumptions about what the other side wants.

Sep.14 – Venus enters Libra (until Oct.08)

Venus glides like a graceful model through her own sign of Libra, giving you the opportunity to expand your interactive style, cultivate diplomacy, beautify your surroundings, schmooze with social connections, and discover a new fashion statement. Find something beautiful, balanced or harmonious to appreciate or do during this time. You might consider visiting an art gallery, or watch a romantic movie, or listen to music that moves you into a peaceful place inside. You might feel drawn to going shopping for beautiful clothes or items to decorate your home. It can also be a good time to negotiate agreements with people, in a way that is fair and is focused on a win-win solution. Do something to celebrate, express and discover your inner and/or outer beauty. Find new ways to balance your own interests with those of others, which generates good will and harmony.

Sep.16 – Mercury opposite Chiron (04:07 of Libra/Aries)  (Sep.17 in AU)

You could experience extra sensitivity, compassion or sympathy toward the problems and suffering of others under this transit. One possibility is that you encounter more people than usual who are struggling with problems that are brought to your attention. Another possibility is that you might be on the receiving end of the results of their suffering – for example, if someone takes out their frustration or discouragement on you. Yet another option is that you may encounter others who are sensitive to and able to offer help for your own ongoing problems and struggles. You may be in a special position to have insight into the problems of others, or they into yours. Exchange of information, experiences, ideas and theories could be useful. You might also experience a difficult interaction with someone that raises an old issue about style of communication (for example, words might be spoken with good intentions that instead cause hurt). This is a good time to listen and observe, and you might catch a glimpse of some ironic or paradoxical truth.

Sep.17 – Venus opposite Chiron (04:04 of Libra/Aries)  (Sep.18 in AU)

You may be extra sensitive to other people's suffering, struggles or dilemmas under this transit. Your own ongoing issues in relationships or finances may undergo a kind of "healing crisis" in which you endure increased problems and must use extra tolerance, compromise or negotiation to keep things from collapsing into a worse state. At the same time, you may be able to reach a new level of acceptance and peace – not necessarily by solving the problems, but by letting go of the struggles that are not as important as you thought and by making the best of the ones that are left. Other people or outside circumstances may give you a push in this direction, which might feel at first like old wounds are being opened up. But this is an opportunity to find new ways to bring healing and balance to old problems, especially using tolerance, compromise and acceptance.

Sep.18 – Saturn Stationary Direct (13:54 of Capricorn; until May.11.2020)  (Sep.17 in HST)  ("What's a Station?"  "What does Retrograde mean?"  Read more about Retrograde planets.)

For up to a week before and after this date, Saturn's energy is especially intense and strong. You might experience this as physical or mental heaviness or sluggishness. You might find you have to "get real" with some responsibilities, or make some difficult decisions. This can be a turning point in long-term projects and plans that you've been developing over the last 5 months or so. Or, you may start to deal differently with old limitations, either finding ways to move beyond them or finding ways to make peace with them. If you're dealing with closure or endings in some area of your life, this could be a time when you can finally start to let go and move forward.

Sep.19 – Mars trine Pluto (20:40 of Virgo/Capricorn)  (Sep.20 in AU)

You may feel a strong urge to embrace and engage power, assert your desires and act on deep impulses. Your sexual energy could also be very high now (use it wisely). You might feel like nothing can stop you or hold you back. In fact, the ability to create change and take action is especially strong right now. If you have been preparing to put plans into action, this can be a powerful time to do so. But also be aware that too much of a good thing can sometimes backfire – it is possible to overstep your bounds or come on a bit too strong, with this energy. Suppressed anger, frustration or an urge to "vanquish the enemy" may be expressed more forcefully than you intend. It will help to center yourself and focus on acknowledging your emotions, impulses and power – then use your good judgment when deciding whether or how to act on them.

Sep.21 – Jupiter square Neptune (16:59 of Sagittarius/Pisces)  (Sep.22 in AU)

This can be a time when you may have to question your belief system and philosophy of life. You are challenged to examine the ways that you use theory, speculation, wishful thinking and blind faith to justify your opinions and beliefs. There is a difference between the principles, opinions, attitudes and spiritual perspectives that we hold dear versus our personal, intimate experience of the vast Universe that shapes and gives rise to our beliefs.

This transit (which only happens about every 6 years) can show how your beliefs, opinions and attitudes are misinformed, misguided or no longer fulfil your spiritual needs. You might come face to face with misconceptions you have held and realise that you have grown beyond your old viewpoints. You might find yourself disillusioned by something or someone you had placed a lot of faith in. Although this may bring deep disappointment, it also clears the way to see a higher, clearer truth. Faith that is founded only on wishful thinking or exaggerated optimism may make you more vulnerable to deception and poor judgment, so it is wise to do a reality check about major decisions with a trusted friend, mentor or expert. This can also be a time when you are challenged to expand your sense of spirituality, meaning and understanding of life to include more of your subject personal experience, rather than relying on conventional wisdom, doctrine or interpretation. If you have been drifting away from living according to your morals, ethics and principles, this may be a time when you become aware of the need to bring your choices and actions more in line with these.

Sep.22 – Mercury square Saturn (13:55 of Libra/Capricorn)  (Sep.23 in AU)

Your thoughts, ideas and communication need to become structured, rational and discreet, although this may not be easy to achieve. You may have to work extra hard to get your point across now, since others might be resistant to your ideas or may not be familiar with the basic concepts. It is a time to be clear, objective and down-to-earth in your communication and thinking, but equally important to do this without going overboard and becoming rigid, autocratic or over-cautious. If you find yourself stuck in a "glass half empty" frame of mind, you might be sagging under the weight of melancholy ...Or, it might mean you are coming to terms with some hard realities and decisions and feeling the gravity of the implications. But also check to be sure you're not taking yourself and your situation too seriously. By applying your best efforts, this can be a very productive time, especially with anything involving communication, writing, organising or logic.

Sep.22 – Mercury square North Lunar Node (14:24 of Libra/Cancer)  (Sep.23 in UK, AU)  ("What's a Lunar Node?")

Under this transit, you might find you need to, or are compelled to, change your mind about where you are heading in your life. You could be confronted with facts or information that contradicts what you thought was real or true about your sense of life purpose, or it might seem like someone is getting in your way. You may be tempted to dismiss this, deny it, avoid it or rationalize your way around it. However, there is probably valuable information coming to you that is important to take into consideration. It doesn't necessarily mean your life destination should be abandoned; rather, you are challenged to see it more clearly. You might also need to communicate information or a point of view that could be unwelcome or unpopular, or difficult to get your point across. In that case, try not to go overboard in standing your ground and focus primarily on what needs to be said and the best way to say it.

Happy Solar Return to all Libras! While the Sun is in Libra, it brings experiences into our lives that focus us in the areas of love, close relationships, one-on-one interaction, diplomacy, negotiation, strategy, fairness, equilibrium, balance, harmony and beauty. This time also marks the point of equal balance between day and night – the Autumnal Equinox. In the Northern Hemisphere, the nights now become longer than the days, and in the Southern Hemisphere, the days become longer than the nights, until the December Solstice. Balance is the key concept here! What is out of balance in your life? How can you negotiate or strategize to bring that area of your life back into harmony? Libra encourages you to balance your life in diplomatic, discreet, "win-win" ways. But if that's not possible, it will do it aggressively (creating conflict in order to break the stalemate of the imbalance) or manipulatively (people-pleasing to co-dependently get its way). Thus, Libra is known as both the peace-maker and the war-maker. If you find yourself instinctively trying to smooth out conflict – or instigate it! – take a step back and ask yourself if that is your best choice in the situation. Just don't get stuck in Libran indecision! Make your choice and then see if it brings what you want.

Sep.24 – Mercury sextile Jupiter (17:22 of Libra/Sagittarius)  (Sep.25 in AU)

You may have an abundance of ideas and words to express them under this transit. There is the potential (if you reach for it) to put ideas, facts and thoughts together into a cohesive whole. You may find you can understand the overall patterns in a situation, or you are able to see the Big Picture, better than usual. New insights and a change of perspective may abound, as your stream of consciousness flows abundantly with optimism and visionary possibilities. You may find yourself more talkative than usual, as you try to share and convey the new ideas, inspiration and knowledge coming into your mind. Write down your best ideas for later development, since you may be having too much fun now playing with ideas to want to stop and make them manifest just yet. There is a chance that you may be so elated and confident that you might come across as a bit overbearing or even as a "know-it-all," so be sure to listen too.

Sep.25 – Venus square Saturn (13:57 of Libra/Capricorn)  (Sep.26 in AU)

Finances, relationships, social contacts and/or pleasures may seem blocked or require extra effort right now. Manifesting your desires may require added hard work, but this struggle could also bring you closer to your goals. It may feel like there is a huge rock blocking your path that keeps you from fulfilling your heart's desire. It may be necessary to face some difficult aspect of your situation before it is possible to know how to proceed. This is ultimately a problem to be solved by confronting that which is unrealistic, unworkable, or just not in your best interest. This can also be a time when you arrive at a crossroads and must make some firm choices, or when circumstances might force you to change your direction. This transit can make your choice clear, although it might not be the one you hoped for.

Sep.25 – Venus square North Lunar Node (14:18 of Libra/Cancer)  (Sep.26 in UK, AU)  ("What's a Lunar Node?")

Perhaps you're finding that the people in your life are not being as supportive, encouraging or cooperative as you thought they would be, in terms of helping you fulfil your life purpose. Someone might suddenly withdraw their support, or maybe they contradict or interfere with what you're trying to do with your life. Perhaps an argument or disagreement happens and the upset, stress or hard feelings that result seem to cast a shadow on how you feel about your life. If this happens, it's possible that what you disagree about is something you should look at more closely. Are you responding to this situation in a way that truly reflects your values? Or perhaps your values need to be reconsidered. The agreement or balance of priorities between you might need to be renegotiated. This transit might also manifest as problems around finances or possessions, which requires some adjustment on your part. Since this transit usually lasts only a few days, in most cases its effects will not be major. If it does bring up some significant issues, it is probably hinting at a deeper issue, and you would be wise to look at the problem beyond the current circumstances. Other transits (especially to your natal chart) can give you more information about the nature of the situation.

Sep.26 – Mercury square Pluto (20:38 of Libra/Capricorn)  (Sep.27 in UK, AU)

You are faced now with a challenge to empower your communication and perceptions, although this may not come easily. It could involve having to face some rather difficult truths that might be a bit disturbing or hard to accept. However in doing so, you gain a deeper understanding and acceptance of yourself, your situation and your role within it. Obsessive or persistent thoughts that are morbid or paranoid are possible, which could be helped by finding something more positive to focus on or a creative outlet. Communication (from others or yourself or both) could be intense, intimidating or even downright damaging, since it may be tempting to get caught up in power struggles and domination. But communication can also be used now to heal, by cutting through hypocrisy and insincerity in order to reach a deeper authenticity and truth – like lancing a boil so that healing can take place.

Sep.26 – Sun opposite Chiron (03:39 of Libra/Aries)  (Sep.27 in UK, AU)

This transit can bring a challenge to your sense of personal purpose versus the trans-personal vision of possibilities. This could play out in many areas; for instance, spirituality, career, life direction, physical or emotional healing, etc. Perhaps you are feeling a conflict between what you want to gain on a personal level versus a higher vision of what you could be capable of. The problem is that to reach for greater possibilities, you have to move beyond your comfort zone. There is a certain amount of risk and sacrifice involved in any kind of growth. You might worry that moving into a larger context could undermine your self-esteem by making you feel small or inadequate. You may be concerned that you'd have to give up personal rewards in order to achieve that higher vision. Regardless of how this plays out in your life, the struggle to find a balance you can live with – between what is and what could be – is the purpose of this transit. Later it will be time to take further action, but for how it is important to grapple with the dynamics of your situation which will lead to a decision.

Sep.28 – Saturn conjunct South Lunar Node (13:59 of Capricorn)  (Sep.27 in HST, AKDT, PDT)  (Sep.dd in AU)  ("What's a Lunar Node?")

Saturn is opposite the North Lunar Node and therefore conjunct the South Node. There is something you need to let go of. Perhaps something must end, or you may need to detach yourself from something or someone. Saturn could be like a stop-sign saying, "You can't get there from here," leading you to pull back, regroup and reassess. Or, there's a lesson to be learned by facing, confronting or dealing with a difficult situation that leaves little room for compromise. You might find it's the right time to reorganize or restructure in some way, allowing you to find a better way forward. Or it might be time to take a situation you've been struggling with, and change its priority in your life; you could move it into the background so that room is made for something else to step into the foreground of your life, making more effective use of your time and energy.

Saturn opposite the North Node last occurred in 2007, and the next occurrence after this year will be 2030/31.
