NEW MOON in CAPRICORN

This Forecast in effect
December 26, 2019 to January 10, 2020

The Lunar Forecasts give Daily Horoscopes a greater context.

As the New Year approaches, it's often a time to take stock of your victories over the past year, what didn't work so well, and what you hope the New Year will bring in the coming months. You might be poised to build something exciting and new in your life, or perhaps you are facing some tough decisions and wondering how you're going to make it through. Either way, you're being challenged to choose a direction at the crossroads which will influence your journey for the coming months or even years. No pressure! ;-)

Reaching out for a guiding light during this time is important. It helps you keep the faith and maintain your sense of hope and purpose. On the other hand, the stakes might seem pretty high and the implications daunting if it doesn't work out. It is the friction created by these opposing energies that can be both uncomfortable and motivating. Both the upside and the downside, the hope and the fear, the faith and the doubts—all need to be maintained in order to move forward most effectively.

So, it helps to know that the coming weeks and months won't be completely wonderful or entirely awful. Remember that you are forging something new that is utterly necessary. That takes time, patience and commitment, as well as vision, courage and hope. Keep an open mind, even if you think you already know everything there is to know. Find ways to stay connected to the world around you, whether you're hanging out with friends, checking in with Facebook, or just hugging your favorite creature (cat, dog, tree, human).

Above all, be open to the magic of the season. This is a time of fresh beginnings when what is old can become new again, and when dreams can start to become manifest. Whatever you do to mark the various turning points of the season over the next couple of weeks, I wish you bright blessings, great joy, rejuvenated hope, and the resilience to head into the New Year in peace.

FULL MOON in CANCER

January 10 to 24, 2020

The Lunar Forecasts give Daily Horoscopes a greater context.

2020 is shaping up to be a very significant, intense, challenging year. You might be feeling heaviness and tiredness, but hopefully you're also feeling a sense of determination and commitment to not let it get the better of you. That mountain in front of you might look pretty steep and endless, but every climb is accomplished one step at a time, and this year is no different.

The really important thing right now is to take good care of yourself. That might involve taking time out when you get weary or overwhelmed, or it could mean reaching out to the people who can be supportive and understanding—even if they do that by giving you a kick in the butt to get moving again. And even when you feel the need for comfort and security, moving a little outside your comfort zone could invoke your buried courage more than you think.

Your courage to gear yourself up for the road ahead could come from surprising or unexpected places. And you'll need that courage because this is a time when the Universe is putting a heavy weight on all of us. It will take commitment, strength, passion and wisdom, and there are times when you'll wonder if it's worth it. If you honestly feel that maybe it's not worth your effort, then it's time to take a long look at your priorities and make sure they match what you stand to gain. Your passion needs to be in this in order to keep going, even when your heart is heavy or your energy is low. Now: take the next step, and then the next.
