Jan.10 – LUNAR ECLIPSE ~ FULL MOON in CANCER (20:00 of Cancer)

Happy New Year to my dearest readers! I wound up writing so much about this Lunar Eclipse and how it dovetails with the Jupiter-Saturn-Pluto conjunctions of 2020 that I decided to turn about half of it into an article in its own right. So, this Low-Down Full Moon article is a bit shorter than usual. You are urged to read both this update and my new article: Jupiter‑Saturn-Pluto 2020 ~ Rite of Passage.

Enjoy! :-)  ~Wendy

Normally the Lunar Eclipse in Cancer would be THEE big news right now. But since it is being upstaged by the Saturn-Pluto conjunction. The Sun is conjunct Saturn and Pluto, and the Moon opposes them. The combined energy of these two slow-moving planets has been building for about a year by longitude (conjunction), and about 4 years by declination (parallel). And it's finally here! Along with Jupiter, these three will dominate the skies throughout this year.

It will be like climbing a mountain. Be it invigorating or arduous, there will be obstacles and landslides, victories and relapses, courage and discouragement. There will be times when you feel I can do this! and other times when you feel like giving up and rolling back down the mountain. It's not a bad thing to take a break when you need to, but don't let it keep you down for good. There's too much to gain by climbing on!

January starts off with a bang – well, several actually. Just in the first couple of weeks we have the Lunar Eclipse in Cancer, Uranus direct station, Saturn-Pluto conjunction, and Mercury comes back In-Bounds (declination).

In addition, there is an unaspected, quirky Venus in Aquarius who is a singleton in Air signs and therefore our best doorway to the Airy regions of the mind. So, your attention could be distractible when it spots something pleasurable, creative, romantic or a great price for something unusual.

There is also an edgy, visionary Mars in Sagittarius. More about this below, but for now we'll just say that you might be feeling a drive to increase your freedom, wisdom, faith or sense of purpose.

Plus, half the Solar System is in Capricorn right now, and everybody's huddled together in a kind of "rolling parallel" at the south end of our Planet Earth. Suffice to say there's a tight ball of dense energy expressing itself through situations involving necessary struggle and realism.

We have now arrived at Part 2 of the Introduction to 2020, brought to you by this, the Lunar Eclipse in Cancer on Jan.10.2020. Part 1 was provided by the Solar Eclipse in Capricorn on Dec.26.2019. Both of these eclipses align with the plethora of planets currently in Capricorn. And since 2020 is the Big Year of the Jupiter-Saturn-Pluto multi-conjunction in Capricorn, these eclipses indicate we're being flung into the deep end of the pool before we can even stick our toe the water.

Saturn and Pluto become exactly conjunct on Jan.12. At that moment, the Sun and Mercury march in lockstep on either side of them, all four squeezed into a span of just over one degree (21-22° Capricorn). With Sun and Mercury being such personal energies, it means this is no abstract noise rumbling in the background—this is an in-yer-face, front-and-centre, now-get-this kind of energy whose ripple effects are bound to be felt on many levels.

Saturn conjunct Pluto 2020

It's possible you could feel determined, driven, empowered, indomitable, single-minded or even obsessed. It might feel like you're surfing a tidal wave – one wrong move could spell disaster, but oh, think of the glory of making it work!

If you're in the process of making something happen, this energy applied to your own persistence could launch you like a rocket. Just remember that a little goes a long way – don't overdo it with the hot sauce of inspiration and drive.

On the other hand, many of us could experience the opposite. You might feel tired, slow, lethargic, discouraged or sad from several days to a couple of weeks before and after the Lunar Eclipse. It might seem sometimes like you're trying to push a big jagged rock uphill. This is a very dense, heavy energy, and it's natural to sometimes feel overwhelmed or inundated by the work ahead that's required to attain your personal goals, or to fulfil an obligation to take care of others in your life, or to embrace a sense of responsibility to resolve the woes of the world in general.

Sun conjunct Mercury Cazimi

At the moment of the Lunar Eclipse, the Sun and Mercury are conjunct so tightly they're blinking in unison! Mercury is Cazimi, a mere 6 minutes of arc past the Sun. In addition, Mercury is still Out of Bounds by declination, suggesting we may be ultra sensitive to ideas, concepts, words and all forms of communication.

You may be picking up on things in the environment at a higher pitch than you realize, as well as having a stronger ability to apply reason, logic and structured thought to whatever you point your attention to. So, pick carefully the thoughts, observations and conclusions that you choose to focus on, because this can affect your frame of mind going forward into 2020. It's good to stay grounded – in other words, try to stay rooted in your objectivity and logic rather than either exploding in reaction or shutting down in discouragement. A cool mind and calm, measured words can help you to keep your balance.

A true symbol appears only when there is
a need to express what thought cannot think
or what is only divined or felt.
~ C.G. Jung

What else does the Lunar Eclipse chart tell us? The Moon is in Cancer—oh ya, the Moon!! We've been so preoccupied with the Capricorn consortium that we forgot there's a whole rest of the chart to explore!

With the Moon in Cancer, one of the best things you can do to get through this Saturn-Pluto time is to take extra good care of yourself. Give yourself time out when you need it, and don't dismiss that need by thinking you're supposed to be tough and excellent at everything you do. You're still human, and everyone needs support, love, a friend and some tenderness.

Neptune trine Moon, sextile Sun Mercury

When you're overwhelmed, you might instinctively retreat into your shell for self-protection, although sometimes we do that by pushing others away through anger or impatience. The point is to keep your inner ears open for time when you do that, so that you can avoid a mess you'll have to clean up afterwards.

In addition, that Moon could guide you to be compassionate, caring and gentle with others. Remember they're going through Saturn-Pluto too. A little extra patience can go a long way. We're all carrying a burden of some kind, and most of it we don't show to the world. The Moon is in a cooperative trine aspect (120°) with dreamy Neptune, so this could help you see the more compassionate side of things. Neptune could also encourage you to find a creative focus to bring you back to a peaceful centre when you or the world starts spinning out of control.

To see a World in a Grain of Sand
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour
~ William Blake, Auguries of Innocence

Mars is feeling a bit prickly in the eclipse chart. He's in adventurous Sagittarius, so he wants the freedom to explore exciting possibilities that could come from all that massive raw material in Capricorn. But instead, Mars is tethered to that Earthy mass like a balloon on a string.

Hard Wedge - Mars, Sun-Mercury, Moon

Here's why: Mars forms a Hard Wedge aspect pattern with the Sun-Moon opposition—in fact the sesqui-quadrate (135°) and semi-square (45°) aspects are PRECISE: 0:00 orb! This puts that Mars balloon uncomfortably close to the business end of a pin. He wants desperately to run away with all that Capricorn energy in a direction that will raise it up to its highest potential.

The problem is that impulsive Mars in Fiery Sagittarius has a hard time counterbalancing all that density. So, on one hand moving with inspired action can help to lighten up the heavy energy in the eclipse, but on the other hand you might feel inspired but frustrated, like your wings are willing but clipped.

Mars is also quincunx to Uranus, which is an irritating connection that requires a lot of mindfulness and consciousness to manoeuvre around and through. Adding to the instability is the fact that Uranus is super-stationary, turning direct (reaching the tipping point just 6½ hours after the eclipse is exact).

Mars qcx Uranus stationary direct

This makes Uranus the rowdy guest at the party, full of surprises. Maybe he'll spike the punch, or bring a plate of (ahem) brownies, or text the guests the night before to give conflicting start times to arrive. Uranus could be the pin that pops the Mars' balloon, or Uranus could potentially be of help to Mars if Mars would check his blind spot long enough to see him there.

One interpretation for Uranus in grounded Taurus is the ability to find the unexpected right under your nose. However, Mars is seized by wanderlust in Sagittarius, so he could be searching the skyline for a omen of freedom from the massive gravity of Capricorn, while completely missing the "world in a grain of sand" at his feet.

In other words, when you're tangled up on the Capricorn complications, don't be so quick to underestimate the potential in what may seem like irrelevant or trivial ideas, opportunities or options. You might be surprised how they could be just what you need, if you can adjust your expectation about what that would look like.

Honor the space between no longer and not yet.

The most important thing to keep in mind as you encounter this lunar eclipse is to take it slow. One Step At A Time. One Trauma At A Time. One Day At A Time. By all means, plan, strategize, anticipate and prepare, in whatever ways are necessary and help you through your process. But aim to step back into the Here-And-Now in between those times. Keep your eye on the far horizon too, so you don't lose sight of what could be and where you want to be, but always come back to your centre, check that your feet are on the ground, and ssslllooowww dddooowwwnnn.........

Capricorn and Saturn are all about making plans and taking things One Step At A Time. Pluto is about being authentically who you are and acting from that centre. Jupiter is about remembering that it will eventually get better, no matter how bad it might seem. So, climb every mountain that will take you to where you can be who you are, achieve what you want to achieve and see a vision of the best that can lie ahead. You don't have to do it all today or even this month, but just keep moving.

Breathe. Stop what you're doing once in a while and just breathe. Breathe again. Give yourself 60 seconds of time-out to just be in your own protected bubble of solitude. Relax your shoulders and your stomach muscles. Acknowledge whatever you're feeling and remind yourself that you are more than your feelings. You are also your experience, your strength, your heart, your courage and your awareness. Then ease your way back out into the world and bring that holistic awareness of who you are with you.

You've got this. :-)

Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in.

Day to Day Transits for the Next 2 Weeks

Jan.10 – Uranus Stationary Direct (02:38 of Taurus; Direct until Aug.15)  (Jan.11 in UK, AU)   ("What's a Station?"  "What does Retrograde mean?"  Read more about Retrograde planets.)

Uranus now turns direct, after being retrograde for the last 4 months. This often brings a turning point in situations involving spontaneity, freedom, breaking free of old patterns, rebellion and expressing your personal uniqueness. For up to a week before and after this date, it could feel a bit chaotic or erratic—or perhaps just spontaneous and exciting. However, Uranus' ultimate agenda is to clear the way for your true spirit to manifest in your life. You may experience unexpected changes, flashes of insight, or disruption of established situations that aren't working well (which might include computers, Internet, mass media, groups, friends or future plans). This can be the awakening of a new perspective, to be brought into a clearer focus through open-mindedness and being willing to try new things.

Jan.12 – Mercury conjunct Saturn (22:44 of Capricorn)  (Jan.11 in HAST)

It's time to take a serious look at the circumstances and situations in your life. This transit may not exactly be "party time" but it's a great transit to have when you need to take a dispassionate, objective, clear view of life. You may be called upon to make a decision about something. For example, you might need to commit yourself to a particular plan of action, or start developing plans toward a particular goal. In either case, it may be necessary to limit or let go of other options. You might come to the conclusion that something has run its course and it's time to leave it behind – like an opinion or project or mindset. It's a time when your perception, thoughts and words may not be exciting, imaginative or entertaining, but you're probably more able to be clear, grounded decisive and hard working.

Jan.12 – Mercury conjunct Pluto (22:46 of Capricorn)

Deep insights and passionate communication are possible under this transit ...although, so is speaking more forcefully than you intend to about things that require a bit of delicacy or discretion. This can be a new beginning in understanding the deeper motives and dynamics of what is happening in your life, although this could happen with great intensity or obsession. The light can finally start to go on in the darker corners that have eluded you. Although what you see there might be both illuminating and disturbing, it is ultimately something you can grow from, which can transform your mental outlook into something more meaningful and resilient. This is a time when you can start to shed and leave behind old worn out perceptions or ineffective forms of communication. You also have an increased ability to take thoughts, ideas and information and transform them into something healing ...or wounding. Choose your words carefully and mindfully. Writing down your thoughts and ideas to capture the energy of this transit can help you gather the deeper qualities.

Jan.12 – Mercury returns from Out of Bounds (OOB since Dec.22.2019; 20:17 Sagittarius to 23:06 Capricorn; next OOB is May.16)  (Jan.13 in AU)   ("What does Out of Bounds mean?"   "What is Declination?")

Mercury has been Out of Bounds (OOB) and now returns within the bounds of the Sun's declination. An in-bounds Mercury is generally easier to work with, where your thoughts, ideas and awareness works more constructively with the world around you. You might find you have new ideas picked up while Mercury was OOB that you now are able to put into practice. If you've felt somewhat liberated by the OOB period, it might be a bit uncomfortable to feel simply "normal" again. On the other hand, if you were feeling a bit ungrounded or out of focus during Mercury's OOB period, coming back in-bounds could feel somewhat reassuring as your brain may find it easier to grapple with ideas and process experiences. Words and thoughts might fit more comfortably into what society regards as "normal" and as such, life may start to feel a bit easier to navigate.

Coming back in bounds can also be a bit of a bumpy landing as that unrestricted energy becomes squeezed back into its usual potency. This is a good time to observe your thoughts, ideas, communication and how you process information, as well as changes in Mercury themes in society around you. For several days before and after this date, pay attention to the things that amplify or cool down your awareness, perceptions and your need to express what you're thinking. Realize that this is an adjustment period, and having some patience with yourself and others can help to smooth and soothe this time.

Alternatively, the re-entry can also be an eventful time when changes in Mercury-related areas can occur. For example, you might feel this is the right time to start—or end—a conversation about things that inspire or aggravate you, or make changes to how and why you express yourself. A shift in how you experience or handle the exchange of ideas and information with others could inspire you to make positive changes in those areas. This might be due to a change in perspective as a result of your experiences while Mercury was OOB.

Jan.12 – Saturn conjunct Pluto (22:46 of Capricorn)  (Jan.13 in AU)

This is the meeting of two of the heaviest, densest energies in our solar system – Saturn and Pluto. Saturn draws boundaries and insists we conduct ourselves according to the rules of natural law. This means there's not a lot of room for wishful thinking, but that our choices and decisions will result in the natural consequences of what we do. A bit harsh perhaps, but it is the way of the physical world.

Saturn conjunct Pluto 2020

Pluto seeks to create deep transformation, like pressure on a lump of coal can turn it into a diamond. It's not an easy process, but when you're trying to create change that strengthens you or your situation, there aren't usually any shortcuts that are as effective.

These two planets grinding together generate friction and heat that can challenge the depth of who you are. At its best, it can ignite passion that fuels your determination, if only to keep you moving through it! On its way through this process, however, it can be quite exhausting, and make you wonder if what you're trying to accomplish is worth it. Only you can tell, but even if you decide your goals aren't worth the effort, these planets will tend to insist you do something with this rare, powerful energy.

For more about the Saturn-Pluto conjunction, see my articles:

Jan.13 – Sun conjunct Pluto (22:48 of Capricorn)  (Jan.14 in AU)

Your sense of purpose is potentially very strong right now, as you are able to tap into a deeper level of energy and determination. Your personality is likely to be more forceful now, which can be great if you need to make a strong impression but perhaps not so great in situations requiring delicacy, subtlety or diplomacy. You have increased ability to see below the surface of things, although it may not be as easy to articulate it in a way that is received comfortably by others. What you pick up from others can also become mixed up with your own personal issues, making it hard to tell where one stops and the other begins. Paranoia and suspicion can be strong. It is possible to unearth secrets or get at the core of unconscious patterns (yours and others'), but it is important to be prudent in how you respond to this awareness. You have the ability to wound as well as heal right now, so probe into the depths (yours and others') as you would into an egg shell that you don't want to break – gently, mindfully and respectfully.

The peak period of Pluto conjunct the Sun is when they are within 17 minutes of arc (or some say within 1 degree), which lasts roughly 13-14 hours. This is called being Cazimi, meaning "in the heart of the Sun." When any planet is Cazimi, it is said to be unusually strong – being in the eye of the storm, so to speak – and can potentially be used to great advantage (for better or worse). In the case of Pluto, you may find that you are extra sensitive to power and control dynamics with others. Your anger fuse might be a little shorter than usual, or you feel like others around you are on a short fuse. If you are going through a time of deep transformation, this transit may take you through an important step in that process. Try to be patient and gentle with people, even if you want to wring their necks. Remember that they're also going through this transit. And that includes how you treat yourself too.

This transit also ignites the Saturn-Pluto conjunction energy, which is exact the previous day! Therefore, although the Sun conjoins Pluto once a year, this particular one is likely to be quite intense. Remember that a little goes a long way and it's easy to underestimate the intensity of your actions and communication. Stay grounded and aware, and give yourself and others lots of elbow room. On the plus side, this can be a powerful time to point yourself in a direction that can carry you a challenging goal or embark on a journey of personal change. It's best to be very honest with yourself about your motives for this—especially any hidden or subconscious motives.

Jan.13 – Sun conjunct Saturn (22:53 of Capricorn)  (Jan.14 in AU)

For a few days before and after this date, you may feel serious, studious, stuck, blocked, committed and/or hard working. It could be a good time to manifest well prepared plans, or you might have to get real and deal with difficult realities in new ways. You may have business with authority figures, or you might be called upon to act in a leadership role. It can also be a time to own your own authority – that is, to BE the authority figure, either to someone else or just to yourself. It might be a time of decision, when you have to choose one path or option over another. This can feel like an ending, as much as it is a new beginning, because selecting one possibility means you must let go of the other possibilities (at least for now). This is a necessary part of the process of manifestation and maturity. Doing closure on the people and situations that are passing out of your life will help to complete the process of growth and learning they have brought into your life, and can help clear the space for something new to begin growing in their place.

The peak period of Saturn conjunct the Sun is when they are within 17 minutes of arc (or some say within 1 degree), which lasts roughly 15 hours. This is called being Cazimi, meaning "in the heart of the Sun." When any planet is Cazimi, it is said to be unusually strong – being in the eye of the storm, so to speak – and can potentially be used to great advantage (for better or worse). In the case of Saturn, it might feel like your road is blocked or like you're pushing a rock uphill. Saturn usually means hard work and commitment. It's also likely to bring up issues around authority, control and ambition—both your own and others'. Pay attention to what you know and what is, more than on what you wish was happening. You can't get somewhere else if you're still blocked in the present or tied to the past.

This transit also ignites the Saturn-Pluto conjunction energy, which is exact the previous day! Therefore, although the Sun conjoins Saturn once a year, this particular one is likely to be especially intense. This is a good time to let go of old attachments that may be dragging you down and keeping you from moving forward. Letting go is often a long-term process, so it's enough to set your intention now with a clear concept of what you're trying to do and why.

Jan.13 – Venus enters Pisces (until Feb.07)  (Jan.14 in AU)

Creativity, harmony and compassion permeate our experiences while Venus waltzes through Pisces. If you are an artist, musician, writer or other imaginative artisan, this can be a time of great creative inspiration. Even if you're not, this can still be a time when your appreciation of the arts is heightened and your sensual enjoyment of life increases. Relationships can be influenced by this placement, by encouraging more openness to love and romance. While this can make interaction smoother and more magical, it might also make you more vulnerable to deception or disappointment. Be receptive don't misplace your better judgment. This can also be a time when you are prone to feeling a Universal Oneness with humanity. You may find you have increased capacity for compassion, caring and connection with others. This, too, can be a mixed blessing – it can bring out your most loving side, but could also make you more easily taken advantage of. You might feel inspired to make a selfless sacrifice, or to donate money or resources as a form of service. It is all done in the name of Universal beauty, truth and compassion. Celebrate this transit by going to a concert of beautiful music, or stroll through an art gallery, or indulge in dreamy sensuality, or let yourself feel a loving connection with all that is around you.

Jan.15 – Venus sextile Uranus (02:39 of Pisces/Taurus)  (Jan.16 in AU)

Relationships, finances, resources and pleasures could benefit from spontaneously trying a completely different approach. If these areas of your life have been getting a little stale or too routine, this transit could shake things up a little...just enough to make things interesting and breathe some fresh air into your familiar routine. Unexpected income could come your way, or you might discover something you just can't resist buying, or you might have an opportunity to make new social connections. The upside of this transit is that it's possible to break free of old habits and enjoy spontaneous interaction. The downside could come in the form of impulse purchases that are beyond your budget, or behaving a bit recklessly or making snap decisions that you can't live with later. This energy is best used to break free of what restricts you, without shattering the foundation you're standing on.

Jan.16 – Mercury enters Aquarius (until Feb.03)  (Jan.17 in AU)

Mercury in Aquarius brings objectivity, detached mental focus, and communication that strives for unprecedented breadth and height – even to the point of adopting an "ivory tower" mentality. This is a good transit for anything requiring a scientific or analytical approach, as well as anything that calls for you to "think outside of the box." This can be a time when you start to see old familiar situations in new ways, giving you a fresh perspective on things. This planetary energy is not likely to be supportive if you need to take a gentle or sensitive approach to personal interaction, however, since you may be more tempted to just say what needs to be said and let the chips fall where they may. Your mental outlook may be focused on upcoming possibilities, and it can be a good time to map out future plans and try on new ideas, since you are likely to be more open-minded to things you had previously dismissed as unrealistic or too "out there." This can be a time when you suffer from "cabin fever" and need to get out of the house more, especially if you've been cooped up for a long time due to bad weather, hard work or just lack of motivation to do something different. Breaking free of old routines can be a good thing – just remember you have to live with whatever mess you make in the process.

Jan.17 – Mercury sextile Chiron (02:00 of Aquarius/Aries)  (Jan.18 in AU)

Your mental focus and communication could get an injection of healing energy under this transit, as long as you are prepared to put some effort into getting it. Your spirits can become uplifted now, from seeing a light at the end of the tunnel or from finding a light that guides you along the path in front of you. It will not, however, make the tunnel or the path go away; you'll still have to walk the walk. But your mental perspective can become more accepting of inconsistencies and frustrations under this transit, which can alleviate a lot of stress and make the journey a bit smoother. Mental struggles and critical "self-talk" may find some reconciliation and acceptance that brings peace of mind. You have an increased ability to find the right words and understanding to help others with their problems, by providing insightful feedback. To get the most out of this transit, aim to find a mental outlook and communication style that can tolerate contradiction without having to eradicate one in order to justify the other.

Jan.18 – Mercury square Uranus (02:40 of Aquarius/Taurus)  (Jan.17 in HAST, AKST)

Flashes of insight can show you new clarity but you might not like the answers you get, since they could disturb your logical perception of what's what. You might get some news or learn come information that shakes you up in some way. This isn't necessarily bad, since this may be necessary to open your mind to something you've been resisting. There's a Higher Truth here that wants to be told (by you or to you), but the way it's phrased can make a big difference in the reaction. There is a risk of "shooting off your mouth before your brains are loaded," as the saying goes, and impulsive or reckless communication and ideas could create more problems than they solve. It will probably help to listen inside yourself first to discover what you really need to say, and then figure out how to say it in a way that doesn't cause unnecessary damage. Strive to shine a light of truth without blinding anyone with it.

Jan.20 – Sun enters Aquarius (until Feb.18)  (Jan.21 in AU)

Happy Solar Return to all Aquarians! While the Sun travels through Aquarius, we all have a chance to explore our rebellious, individualistic and futuristic Aquarian nature. This heralds a time to explore beyond the status quo and conventional reality, beckoning you to reach out to the lost threads of who you are. You may become more aware of your individual uniqueness and your part in the Great Collective – both your surrounding community and the Collective Unconscious. In order to fulfil the unique fingerprint of your life's purpose, it is sometimes necessary to be rebellious, spontaneous, and to be open to the unexpected. You might become aware of the need for these qualities under this transit. There is always a constant tension between the need to conform to society's formula of what works best versus the need to step off the main path to explore new experiences, and both are equally necessary to the health of both the individual and the greater community. Archetypally, it is in Aquarius that we encounter our personal experience of the battle between "the needs of the many" versus "the needs of the few." During the Sun's adventure through Aquarius, be open to the ways that this dynamic operates in your life. What can trigger or inspire you into rebellion or going against the conventional flow of the world around you? What will motivate you into being a team player, when you apply your energies to support or defend "the needs of the many?" What visions of the future do you see when you are in either mode of being? This is a time when you may have the opportunity to observe and learn about both sides of yourself – the part that feels like it's "me against the world" and the part that feels like a part of that world.

Jan.20 – Venus trine North Lunar Node (08:20 of Pisces/Cancer)  (Jan.21 in AU)  ("What's a Lunar Node?")

Today, as well as up to a couple of days before and after, you may feel a bit more comfortable in your own skin and in the social world around you. In fact, interactions you have with others may prove fruitful to help you move further along your path toward whatever destination you're pointed in. You might be in a position to do this for someone else, as well. It may be a good time to spend or save money and other resources. However, it's still wise to do a reality check to make sure both side of the exchange are satisfied that you got as much as you gave.

Jan.22 – Sun sextile Chiron (02:10 of Aquarius/Aries)  (Jan.23 in AU)

This is a time when you have an opportunity to mend and heal the chronic struggles in your life. You may find new inspiration, motivation or confidence that can help rejuvenate waning enthusiasm or reconcile persistent problems, although you'll still have to apply effort to bring it all together. You might get the chance to demonstrate your ability to walk your own path in a new way. Or, you might get a peek inside the hidden shadow of your worries and discouragement, giving you new insight into how you might be unconsciously sabotaging your conscious efforts. You may have to face a bit of your own fear of failure or low self-esteem before you can get beyond these feelings and tap into the benefits of this transit – not because you are failing but because these concerns may arise in response to the new potential now available to you. By tapping into this potential for creative problem solving, you can bring some healing to whatever your situation is.

Jan.23 – Sun square Uranus (02:42 of Aquarius/Taurus)  (Jan.22 in HAST, AKST, PST, MST)

Your world may experience a bit of a shake-up right now, as the Universe decides it's time to make things "interesting." This is a wake-up call, designed to loosen you up from the ways you have become too habitual, stuck or inhibited. The "radical rascal" in you may be itching to come out and stir up trouble, which on one hand might be necessary but also very disruptive and possibly even destructive. Be alert to new insights and opportunities disguised as accidents or crises. Your usual sense of self and purpose may become somewhat unsettled right now, but a space is likely being cleared to make room for new growth and possibilities. If you're looking to break old habits or break free of old restrictions, this may be the time – but it could create a mess that you'll have to clean up later. Resist the urge to rebel just for the sake of doing something different, and aim instead to break free of old forms of self-expression and ideals that don't work for you anymore. Expect the unexpected and then surf the shock-wave.

Jan.23 – Venus sextile Jupiter (11:48 of Pisces/Capricorn)  (Jan.24 in AU)

There is an abundance of creative inspiration, material enjoyment, feel-good pleasure in the air! Your luck and opportunity to attract money, love, resources and self-esteem are high right now. It may be relatively easy to attract the people, possessions and opportunities you want or need, but you'll still have to work to get them. On the other hand, your eyes may be bigger than your stomach (as mother would say) and you might be tempted to charm, flirt or bluff your way through a situation more than usual. There may also be a tendency to self-indulgence. These are not necessarily bad things, but it's probably wise to remember to use this energy to enhance your best judgement, not override it.
