Apr.22 – NEW MOON in TAURUS (03:24 of Taurus)

Sigh... There's nothing like an ongoing crisis to make you wonder what normal used to feel like. Thanks to COVID-19, the whole world seems stuck in a bad episode of the Twilight Zone!

Each New Moon and Full Moon we encounter through this time seems to describe another phase of what it's like to endure and cope with this struggle for survival, and the New Moon in Taurus is no exception.

The Sun and Moon are conjunct Uranus and square Saturn – certainly not the easiest energies for peace-loving Taurus to contend with. Taurus seeks calm, pleasure, stability and material security, but with Uranus continually stirring the pot, and Saturn disrupting the flow of everything except stress, the blessings of Taurus may feel pretty scarce these days.

Uranus' style is to give us a smack upside the head to wake us up, so that we increase our awareness of what's going on around us. Saturn's style is to throw an obstacle in our path, and we must either change to a different plan or strengthen ourselves to climb over it.

The Saturn-Uranus square is well within orb now, from mid-February to mid-May, but won't become exact until early next year. And then we'll be living with that energy until the end of 2022. So, this is a prelude to what is to come. (Uh-huh, I heard that groan...)

The Saturn-Uranus square is an argument about the best way to create and work with inevitable change. Saturn says, "We need a new World Order that will allow us to survive and endure for the long-term. Big change is happening, and we need to start forging a better system now that will work for everyone."

Uranus says, "Okay, then I'll disrupt everything so that we can't just relax into the same-old-same-old. Chaos is the only way to uproot the old and ensure it doesn't grow back like last year's weeds."

Saturn replies, "But then I have to put back together what your chaos takes apart, and you're making that impossible for me to do." Uranus retorts, "But the omelette you want to make requires me to break the eggs you want to keep intact."

Saturn sternly: "Listen to what I'm telling you, you brat. If we don't do things my way, the outcome could be disastrous, even more than it already is. And I'm telling you that we have to be cautious, realistic and preserve the status quo or we'll all be lost."

Uranus thumbing his nose: "Listen, you authoritarian blowhard, you can't tell me what to do. I don't trust you not to overdo the caution and underdo the opportunity for change."

Saturn: "You're being too destructive and reckless!" Uranus: "You're being too controlling and heavy-handed!"

And on and on. Sigh....

In December, Jupiter will enter Aquarius and join the debate, bringing a renewed sense of vision and attempt to knock Saturn's and Uranus' heads together to get them working cooperatively for the betterment of all. In the meantime, Saturn and Uranus will be fixed in a battle of intentions and strategies.

It's also interesting to note that although Uranus and Pluto are no longer close enough to be in a proper square aspect, Saturn is acting as a kind of bridge that will be reconstituting some of the Uranus-Pluto conflict energy that was at its peak from 2012-2015. So, if today's controversies seem a bit familiar, it's not just you!

All of that is especially significant now because the Taurus New Moon is conjunct Uranus and square Saturn. Underscoring this is the fact that the Sun is also tightly parallel Uranus by declination.

Thanks to COVID-19, this is a time of broken routines, when we have to rethink every little thing we used to do easily and automatically. It makes going out into the world really complicated! In many ways, we are living moment by moment and making it up as we go along, and yet must remain within the bounds of safety. How's that for a Saturn-Uranus combination?

So many things that we took for granted are now disrupted, uncertain, controversial or blocked. The simple act of going outside becomes a risk for exposing oneself to the Coronavirus. Being around other people, especially closer than 6 feet (2 meters) – with or without a mask – is essentially asking for trouble.

Around the world, non-essential businesses are closed down in many places, in order to "plank the curve" and slow down the spread of the virus. For those who must remain home, the ability to obtain essential goods can be erratic at best, amid the scramble for things like toilet paper and sanitizing products.

It seems that anyone who isn't overwhelmed these days, in some form or another, just isn't paying attention. It's easy to feel the panic start to rise and hard to know how to feel safe as we watch the climbing death toll both locally and globally. Taurus' calm, comfort and reassurance can be elusive, achieved for a short time only to be crunched again with the next news cycle. And the wildly fluctuating economy—again, local and global—is like trying to go to the bank during an earthquake. Thanks a lot, Uranus...

However, Taurus is all about seeking stability, gratification and sustainability, so what do we do with Uranus' contradictory energies? Taurus wants to consolidate resources to ensure basic needs are met, while Uranus wants to break it all apart to show the flaws and start something new. Taurus wants endurance, structure and consistency, whereas Uranus breaks out in hives at the very thought.

Uranus is in Taurus for the long haul, churning up the Taurus landscape until 2026. So, our fleeting lunar cycle in Taurus is about learning how to find stability now amid the upheaval, and comfort within the chaos. How do we get some Taurus contentment in Uranian times?

A lot of people are seeking refuge through indulgence in the usual vices: alcohol, food, porn, sex, gambling, online shopping, etc. These can be wonderful stress relievers and distractions from anxiety, and for most of us, won't become a problem if done in reasonable moderation.

However, it's wise to avoid becoming engulfed in perpetual or hardcore escapism. Saturn is here to remind us that whatever coping mechanisms we use through this time may produce consequences that could be difficult to live with later. On the other hand, if we use constructive activities, those consequences could also be beneficial. So, the trick is to find a healthy and sustainable balance between escaping from reality which can relieve stress, versus facing reality which can amplify it.

It's hard to be positive in the face of this pandemic without sounding simplistic, delusional or "tone-deaf." Without question, this crisis has wrought enormous loss for many of us. Some are living with a mortal fear of being infected with COVID-19, and some are suffering from the death of a loved one. Some fear losing their home after losing employment and income, while others are risking their lives by staying on the job. Some are in anguish, unable to be with a family member who is ill, while others are trapped with an abusive family member.

Sometimes it seems like the whole world has come unglued, as we scatter in all directions looking for a safe place to take refuge emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually. What makes sense to one person may look completely ridiculous, dangerous, irrational or under/over-reactive to another. And since the virus is so new (it first appeared barely 6 months ago), scientists too are still struggling to fully understand it.

We all bring our own brand of courage to this crisis. Some are working to exhaustion to support others, while for others it's a victory just to get through the day. No matter what your experience is, it's not easy for any of us. Some days are better or worse than others, yet we all must face the day in some way or other, whether we rise determined to do our utmost or stay in bed to recover from the stress. We're all taking it day by day, doing the best we can, and living in hope that the virus' global rampage will calm down soon.

And yet, despite the dark clouds dimming our light, silver linings can be found. These chaotic times are indeed an opportunity to take a fresh look at our lives and envision how we can make improvements for our future. Although our lives and the world may seem to be coming apart at the seams and we will have to put it all back together again, there is a hidden opportunity to rebuild in a better way.

One example: many parts of the world have been suffering health problems due to terrible air pollution, and yet with the shutdowns of so many industries and services, that pollution has dropped. Cleaner skies have enabled a healthier environment, which in turn promotes improved healing from this lung disease that had previously been made worse by the pollution.

Will the relief of breathing fresher air and enjoying clearer skies leave enough of an impression that we will keep our skies clean after the lockdowns are lifted? Perhaps. Toxic air pollution becomes "normal" because it increases gradually and we start to think it's too big a job to change. If a person living in 1919 was suddenly transported into 2019 with its dense smog in many places, they would be aghast wondering why people tolerate it.

The question is a fair one: why do we tolerate unhealthy conditions? The truth is we live busy, often complicated lives, and many problems have a way of being pushed to the background because our overflowing plates can't handle any more problems. The old "normal" becomes sullied so gradually we barely notice it until suddenly it becomes obvious and we wonder how we got there. But then it may feel like the problem is so huge, we feel powerless to fix it. And if we have governments that don't act sufficiently to make change, then we're back again to not having the energy, time or resilience to object loudly enough to get their attention.

It often takes a crisis that demands we do something about it NOW to break us out of old patterns and open our eyes to what a better world could look like. If we're paying attention, we'll see that a catastrophe can actually put us in a better position to create new policy and habits that can sustain the improvements.

So: Uranus the Awakener and Saturn the Manifestor (with Pluto and Jupiter as the supporting cast) are here to show us how we can make changes for the long-term. It's no blissful walk in the park, but we can take advantage of it to reap benefits and opportunities for improvement.

On a personal level, what better time to rethink old ways of doing things than a situation that totally disrupts your usual routine? Have to stay home? Great time to declutter or rearrange the furniture or paint the place. Lost your job? Absolutely it's a scary time, although maybe you now have time to find courses online that can expand your skill set and give you more options to bring to your next job. Feeling overwhelmed and lacking in motivation to make any changes? You're not alone. So, do whatever you can, take it one step at a time, and make self-care a priority. Maybe this is a time to relax and give yourself some breathing space, letting go of workaholic habits.

If you think you might have COVIC-19, please take utmost care of yourself! Even if your symptoms are mild, your health must come first – this is not something to fool around with. Consult and follow your doctor's advice, and get tested if you can. It is paramount that you focus on recovery – the world needs you! And if you're battling a health problem other than the Coronavirus, it's just as important to make that your top priority too.

While you fight the good fight—whether it's illness, mental health, physical vitality or spiritual hope—watch how your priorities change to support your recuperation process. You might find it's a time to experiment with new things. So, clean out your closets! Quit or cut back on smoking, drinking and drugging, at least until you're feeling better. Eat more veggies and less ice cream, and take your vitamins. Rest and relax instead of working too hard, but find ways to get some exercise. Call your Mom and Dad, your kids or friends – whoever you haven't checked in with for a while. Start or get back to writing in your journal to maintain a supportive connection with yourself.

As you make these changes, pay attention to what it feels like to do things differently. Some things will be uncomfortable for a while but then notice how you feel as they start to normalize: breathing easier, head clearer, muscles less tense, less guilt, and so on. Think about what life can be on the other side of this pandemic if you continue some of these new practices.

Uranus loves to experiment and be innovative, so this is a good time to try new things as long as your usual "normal" is being disrupted anyway. Saturn promotes integrity—being consistent with who you are inside—so this is a great time to rediscover who you are and what's important to you.

Venus aspects

Last but not least is Venus, ruler of the Taurus New Moon. She has a lot on her plate these days too, as I discussed in the Libra Full Moon update. Venus is still Out of Bounds, reaching her highest declination on May.03 and coming back In-Bounds on Jun.01. An Out of Bounds (OOB) planet strives to do things differently, to think and act out of the box, according to its own rules and from a different perspective. Uranus shaking up the New Moon in Venus' sign seems to echo the unconventional nature of Venus' OOB status.

In Venus' case, this may include wanting more from close relationships and interactions in general, which may or may not be able to provide what you're hungry for. This can also indicate a time when finances are a bit unpredictable. Or your usual ways of finding balance and centeredness don't quite work the same way, and you need to find creative ways of achieving equilibrium. Stop me when this starts to sound familiar...

Venus is square to Neptune, becoming exact on May.03. Neptune is currently a singleton in Water signs, suggesting our feelings and emotions can get carried away rather easily by fear, wishful thinking, and projecting our assumptions onto external people and situations. Venus and Neptune can make us extra sensitive to this, so it will help to be prepared with some reinforcements to keep ourselves grounded and centered.

On the plus side, the Venus-Neptune square can indicate the potential for vivid, inspired creativity, and perhaps a need to appeal to a power greater than ourselves for peace and support. However, it could also amplify the urge to indulge in escapism and denial, including the potential to reactivate a recovering addiction. It might be a good idea to make a list of your support people and practices that can help you can bring yourself back to balance if you start to slide down the slippery slope.

Venus is still trine to Mars, in effect from Mar.22 to May.10. Unfortunately, the Mini-Trine aspect pattern they formed with Mercury is finished now (in effect April 11-22). Despite their long orb, the Venus-Mars trine doesn't perfect (become exact). They are now past their closest orb of 1° (Apr.18), so their trine is now growing wider and will gradually become less influential.

In general, Venus trine Mars creates a cooperative connection between our assertive and receptive natures, between our urge to be independent versus our desire to be closely connected with others, and between our courage to be daring and our love of comfort and calm. So, during this almost 2-month period, you might feel inspired to boldly bring more pleasure and comfort into your life, or perhaps find more cooperative, diplomatic or gentle ways to deal with aggression, anger and frustration.

And finally, Venus is gearing up for her next retrograde dance, from May 13 to June 25. The retrograde station is covered in the next update for the Full Moon in Scorpio, but in the meantime this building energy contributes more turbulence to the already-blustery Venus weather, particularly with Saturn and Uranus on the loose. In other words, it will help to find creative ways now to experiment with new strategies for comfort, peace, balance and leisure, because it's likely to be a few months before Venus is flying upright in calm skies again.

When Japanese ceramics are broken, they are made new again through the art of kintsugi. Will they be the same? No, they'll never been the same. But by repairing them with precious metals, they become something else, something different, more beautiful, valuable and amazing.

The loss, tragedy and upheaval of this pandemic crisis is like a broken bowl. Notwithstanding the terrible loss, it gives us a chance to make positive changes going forward that can improve our lives.

Will life be the same after this? No, not completely. Will it last forever? No, not completely, but we are now on notice that we need to make changes to minimize future crises like this. We have now seen first-hand how devastating a contagious disease can be to our personal and global wholeness. It's not the first time the world has endured a pandemic, including in modern times, and it won't be the last. It's a reality of our times that can't be unseen. But we can frame this experience in a way that will help us get through it and move on.

Taurus is about value – what we value, why we value it, and how we gather and protect our valuables. Getting through this crisis requires that we re-examine our values, letting go of old ones that don't quite fit us anymore, and formulating new ones that are more useful, effective and relevant to our current and future world. Venus' long journey through today's complicated territory this year is exactly the astrological energy to help us do that.

This New Moon in Taurus, conjunct Uranus and square Saturn, is really bringing it home to a lot of us that we're no longer in what we once considered "normal." We're really "not in Kansas anymore." Everything old is new again, for better or worse.

Day to Day Transits for the Next 2 Weeks

Apr.25 – Mercury square Pluto (24:59 of Aries/Capricorn)  (Apr.24 in HAST, AKDT)

You are faced now with a challenge to empower your communication and perceptions, although this may not come easily. It could involve having to face some rather difficult truths that might be a bit disturbing or hard to accept. However in doing so, you gain a deeper understanding and acceptance of yourself, your situation and your role within it. Obsessive or persistent thoughts that are morbid or paranoid are possible, which could be helped by finding something more positive to focus on or a creative outlet. Communication (from others or yourself or both) could be intense, intimidating or even downright damaging, since it may be tempting to get caught up in power struggles and domination. But communication can also be used now to heal, by cutting through hypocrisy and insincerity in order to reach a deeper authenticity and truth – like lancing a boil so that healing can take place.

Pluto is stationary when Mercury squares it, which could make this transit extra intense and dynamic. You may be ultra-sensitive to information that feels scary or overwhelming. On the other hand, it could be a good time to ponder difficult questions and try on new ways of seeing things. It can also be a good time to let go of an old idea, a point of view, or a frame of mind that is getting in the way of thinking clearly.

For up to a week before and after this date, Pluto's energy is especially strong and intense. You might experience this in the form of intensity, power struggles, deep psychological awareness or strong libido. You could encounter the need to face aspects of yourself or others that are disturbing or difficult to accept. There may also be some part of yourself or your life that has fulfilled its purpose and needs to be shed like a snake's skin. Over the next 5 months (while Pluto is retrograde), you will work at loosening and letting go of that "skin," and working toward the rebirth that will come out of it. This can also be a time when you become aware of the areas where you need to strengthen your personal empowerment or possibly need to tone down the way you wield power.

Apr.26 – Mercury square Jupiter (26:42 of Aries/Capricorn)  (Apr.25 in HAST, AKDT, PDT, MDT, CDT)

You may be seeing the weak links in your knowledge, understanding or beliefs right now. Your ideas and words might seem to fall short of what your mind envisions, or you might be unable to convince others of your point of view. As a result, it can be tempting to over-compensate with more self-confidence, faith or optimism than you actually have. Or, you might give out "too much information" by over-explaining or through nervous rambling. Alternatively, you might encounter someone else who does this and perhaps have a blaming or judgmental reaction to them. This is an opportunity to learn something about how you might jump to conclusions or blame, possibly triggered by a situation that challenges your beliefs, opinions or perspective. To learn more about this part of yourself, try taking some time to think about what is really bothering you or what you really need to say in that situation. There may be a higher truth to be found if you open your mind to something you're reluctant to acknowledge, rather than looking for a "final truth" around which to close it.

Apr.26 – Sun conjunct Uranus (06:35 of Taurus)  (Apr.25 in HAST)

Spontaneity, surprises and "flying by the seat of your pants" characterize this transit. You are more open than usual to new experiences and open-minded to new perspectives. Your sense of humour and fun are finely tuned and may spring up unexpectedly and irreverently. It is more possible to break free of old habits and getting out of a rut you have been in. In fact, you may find it is fun to try doing something completely out of character...so much so that it's wise to be careful not to be too reckless under this transit. Have fun pushing the envelope, but try not to rip or shred that envelope. On the other hand, that might be the only way you can get out of a restrictive situation that's holding you back, and this transit could give you the impulsive courage to do just that. Your creativity may come in bursts and in unexpected ways, so try to take advantage of them when they present themselves or else write down your inspiration for future consideration.

The peak period of Uranus conjunct the Sun is when they are within 17 minutes of arc (or some say within 1 degree), which lasts roughly 14-15 hours. This is called being Cazimi, meaning "in the heart of the Sun." When any planet is Cazimi, it is said to be unusually strong – being in the eye of the storm, so to speak – and can potentially be used to great advantage (for better or worse). In the case of Uranus, you may be struck with the urge to do something completely out of character. It can be a good time to explore and experiment with new ideas, new responses or new perspectives. It's also good to be cautious with how far "off the beaten path" you go, since you will still need to live with the consequences afterward. Use this energy to focus into your unique centre and get in touch with the authentic Inner You.

Apr.27 – Moon goes Out of Bounds (00:14 to 23:01 Cancer; OOB for less than 2 days, until Apr.29)  (Apr.28 in AU)   ("What does Out of Bounds mean?"   "What is Declination?")

The Moon goes Out of Bounds (OOB) by Declination, during which time your feelings and emotions may be a bit stronger than usual. You might feel a little separated from the world around you, and as a result you might feel a bit lonely or in need of some reassuring human contact. On the other hand, this detachment might be a welcome change if you're feeling a bit stressed or overwhelmed by the energy around you and need some time out. Or, you may find it's time to go your own way a bit more, to seek your own company or search for a more supportive environment. Your creativity and imagination might be more willing to follow unusual ideas, whims and impulses.

A planet goes OOB when its declination is greater than 23:26 (23 degrees and 26 minutes), which is the maximum declination of the Sun, and the Sun defines the Bounds. In 2020, the Moon's maximum declination finally goes beyond the Bounds in March, for the first time since 2011, and will continue to go OOB until January 2030. For now, the Moon's maximum declination increases very gradually each month, and only gets to 24:52 by December 2020 (compared to her maximum declination of 28:34, which she'll reach in 2025). So, in 2020 the Moon is only a little OOB and this energy might not be very noticeable until around September. If you have the Moon or other planets OOB in your natal chart, you might be more sensitive to this energy.

Apr.27 – Mercury enters Taurus (until May.11)  (Apr.28 in AU)

Thoughts, communication and analysis work best when they are careful and methodical, during this transit. Your mental attitude and awareness may be somewhat serious and conservative – or down-to-earth, relaxed, and grounded in simple pleasures. Your perceptions may be a little slower to form, and you may have to search a little longer to find the right words. But there is also an increased ability to savour and appreciate your experiences more, and it can be a time when you can relax and recharge your mental batteries. You might find that your body instincts and sensory experience give you more information than your conscious thoughts. This is a good time to plan out how to manifest the ideas that sprang from your imagination in the past several weeks. Take your best ideas, perceptions and words and sow them like seeds. Then watch them grow over time.

You may be more perceptive and observant than usual during this transit. You could find the right words to communicate a little easier, or you might simply find that things make a little more sense. It can be a good time to write that letter, ask that question, make that call, when you feel you are in focus to move forward. The only caution is to be careful not to focus on what you want so strongly that you can't see what's really there, or to try to force the situation to be what you want it to be.

Apr.28 – Mercury square Saturn (01:49 of Taurus/Aquarius)  (Apr.29 in AU)

Your thoughts, ideas and communication need to become structured, rational and discreet, although this may not be easy to achieve. You may have to work extra hard to get your point across now, since others might be resistant to your ideas or may not be familiar with the basic concepts. It is a time to be clear, objective and down-to-earth in your communication and thinking, but equally important to do this without going overboard and becoming rigid, autocratic or over-cautious. If you find yourself stuck in a "glass half empty" frame of mind, you might be sagging under the weight of melancholy ...Or, it might mean you are coming to terms with some hard realities and decisions and feeling the gravity of the implications. But also check to be sure you're not taking yourself and your situation too seriously. By applying your best efforts, this can be a very productive time, especially with anything involving communication, writing, organising or logic.

Apr.30 – Mercury conjunct Uranus (06:52 of Taurus)  (May.01 in ADT, NDT, UK, AU)

Communication and thoughts can be radical, spontaneous, unusual and uncharacteristic under this transit. You may be compelled to speak your mind to say things you've held back from saying before now. However, as the saying goes, there is a risk of "shooting off your mouth before your brains are loaded." It is a time when you are likely to be open-minded and flexible in your perceptions. Our eyes are wide open, and as a result, we may be a bit shocked, surprised or stunned by what we see. This can also release our creative genius and bring inspired clarity, especially as we look to the future. Encounters with groups, friends and the greater community are also possible at this time.

May.03 – Venus Direct square Neptune (20:18 of Gemini/Pisces)  (May.04 in ADT, NDT, UK, AU)

Money, material resources, relationships and pleasure could be subject to confusion, deception, or unrealistic wishful thinking under this transit. It may seem that what you thought you had (love, friendship, pleasure, money, resources) has suddenly disappeared or isn't as dependable as you thought it was. You might feel disappointed, disillusioned, sad or alone, but this is more likely to be a passing phase than a serious crisis. The question is: what are your secret longings and subtle desires that may be operating unconsciously? These could be clouding your ability to relate to people and situations in your life. Old addictions, depression or idealism may surface as way of dealing with feelings. A better outlet would be to channel your feelings and experiences into creativity, beauty, inspiration and compassion; for example, art, music or helping others.

This is the first of 3 passes of this transit: May.02, May.20 and Jul.27. The issues, inspiration and challenges that come up at this time will evolve in some way throughout the upcoming Venus retrograde cycle.

May.04 – Sun conjunct Mercury (14:52 of Taurus)  (May.05 in AU)

During this transit, your sense of self and purpose can become merged with what you think, perceive and say. On one hand, this can make for an easy flow of ideas and communication from inside your brain to the external world. It can also increase your perceptions and observations of the world, as you file it all away in your internal database. On the other hand, you may find yourself a bit tongue-tied, as it could be hard to separate your sense of self from your perceptions and ideas enough to find the words to adequately express them. In that case, just observe and go with the flow; the words will come later. It can also be a time when it's not easy to be objective, especially about yourself and how you bring yourself to the world around you. It's like your Being automatically expresses and sets into motion the things you think, perceive and want to say. This can help you to feel like your sense of self is shining effortlessly, but if your thoughts and perceptions are in conflict with other parts of you (e.g., emotions, needs, objectivity) then it might become a time when you act a little too quickly with blinders on. Strive for balance and self-honesty before you act.

The peak period of Mercury conjunct the Sun is when they are within 17 minutes of arc (or some say within 1 degree), which lasts roughly 14-20 hours when Mercury is direct, or 5-8 hours when retrograde. This is called being Cazimi, meaning "in the heart of the Sun." When any planet is Cazimi, it is said to be unusually strong – being in the eye of the storm, so to speak – and can potentially be used to great advantage (for better or worse).

In the case of Mercury, your perceptions, awareness, ideas, and ability to put your thoughts into words may have a strong impact, being unusually clear, focused or direct. It is recommended that you use wisdom and good judgment, since an extra sharp wit during this time could possibly have negative consequences, intended or not. Since Mercury is Retrograde, these increased Mercury qualities are likely to be especially intuitive or creative in nature than analytical or logical. Pay attention to your dreams, as they will probably reveal messages from your deep unconscious.

May.05 – True North Lunar Node enters Gemini (until Jan.18.2022)  (May.04 in HAST, AKDT, PDT, MDT)  ("What's a Lunar Node?")

When the North Lunar Node is in Gemini, its opposite point, the South Lunar Node is in Sagittarius. Together they form an axis of energy which, in this case, moves toward Gemini and away from Sagittarius. At the North Node, you take in the energy; you take on new awareness and learning and you confront (or are confronted by) new challenges. For roughly a year and a half, you are learning about Gemini energy: ideas, information and communication. This is a time to exchange ideas, perceptions and awareness with others around you. Compare notes, gather new information and just observe what is going on in the world around you. It is also a time to find your voice – to speak up and share your knowledge with others. Learn to listen better – allow others to find their voice by sharing their information with you. Find the commonality with those around you, and discover how you connect with those around you. Hang out with friends and neighbours and just enjoy a beautiful day. Find ways to have fun and laugh, seeing life from a youthful, untarnished perspective. Be clever, witty and charming, and enjoy these qualities in others.

At the South Node (Sagittarius, in this case), we let go of something that is no longer needed. Once you've learned the lesson of the South Node, you release it; move it from the foreground to the background. Sagittarius is about higher knowledge, wisdom and a broad perspective about life. Rather than the simply collecting and sharing information, this is about discovering the greater meaning, implications and understanding of that information. Where Sagittarius can become trapped is intellectual snobbery and know-it-all arrogance. It can focus so much "out there" in the broad theoretical perspective about things that it misses the value in simply enjoying the here and now. Never mind reaching for the brother/sisterhood of global humanity – see what you have in common with your next door neighbour. Let go of your reliance on the symbolic, intellectual or theoretical meaning about life, since that can hide a fear of simple connection with your fellow humans.

The Gemini-Sagittarius themes will also play out in the houses in your natal chart where these signs reside, taking on challenges of the house where the North Node is and letting go of the baggage related to the opposite house where the South Node is.
